And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 12 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Captain Gonza!
The judges for this bout are Arvi Lind, Matti Vanhoillinen and Anni Minnemäki.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gonza scores with a jab.
Takano fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Gonza manages to avoid it.
Gonza connects with a right hand. Takano shakes it off.
Gonza swings and misses with a hook to the body.
A jab from Gonza misses.

Gonza feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Takano sprawling to the canvas! Takano rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Gonza finish him?!

Takano is rocked!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
A looping hook to the body misses from Takano. Gonza does a little dance to reset his feet.
Takano attempts a low kick but it misses it's target.
Takano feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Gonza's calf.
Takano throws an overhand right that lands on Gonza's shoulder, as Gonza tries to avoid the shot.
A nice leg kick lands there from Takano.
Gonza thows a left - swing and a miss!
A shot to the liver by Gonza. Beautiful body shot.
Gonza fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
Takano steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Gonza.
Gonza throws a looping overhand right but Takano ducks down to avoid it.
A combination from Takano does no damage.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Gonza sends Takano crashing to the mat with a devastating uppercut! Gonza is motioning to the referee to let Takano up. He wants to try and finish this one on the feet!
Oh Takano is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

It looks like Yoshi Takano has been cut.
Takano misses with a left hand
and Gonza counters with a crisp right that sends Takano to the canvas! Gonza follows up with punches from the mount and this one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:13 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Captain Gonza!
Captain Gonza is the new heavyweight champion!
A less than humble Captain Gonza misjudged his post fight interview somewhat and came across a little too arrogant whilst trying to hype up his own abilities.
