The bell rings for round one and we are underway! MC scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one. Ortiz swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Ortiz tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Ortiz fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

Danga de danga de dang - MC scores with a four punch combination! MC throws the kick towards the body but Ortiz avoids it. Ortiz throws a leg kick and before Ortiz can reset, MC rushes him with a swarm of punches, sending him crashing to the floor, in all sorts of trouble! Ortiz is trying to beat the count but we're up to 6 already and he's nowhere near. 7,8... he's up! He's going to continue!
Ortiz is rocked! We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Ortiz walks into a big right hand from MC and goes down! The referee sends MC to a neutral corner as Ortiz gets back to his feet. He looks OK so we're back under way. Ortiz is still on wobbly legs! Can MC finish him? We've been informed that Ortiz has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result. MC catches his opponent with a big hook that sends him to the canvas! Ortiz stumbles back to his feet but will the referee allow it to continue? Ortiz walks forwards and this one will be allowed to continue! Come on! Ortiz misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
MC looked to counter with a high kick but didn't commit. Ortiz throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.

Wow, both these guys are really going for it! Ortiz does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy. Ortiz misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

Just in time and the ref is going to let the fight continue! A slapping leg kick lands for Ortiz.
Ortiz stalks MC and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into MC's face. MC staggers backwards, shaken. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Ortiz tries to move into range but MC moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand. A jab lands there for MC. Ortiz throws a quick head kick that skims the top of MC's head. MC dodges the punch combination from Ortiz.
A quick step to the side and MC tries to counter with a shot to the body but it doesn't connect. Ortiz pulls out of a head kick attempt.
MC connects with a crushing straight, right on the bridge of Ortiz's nose, sending him crumpling to the mat! That's really rocked Ortiz - is he going to beat the count??? 4,5,6,7,8,9.....10 - he's not made it - this one is all over!
