Gaspar throws a hook but Clarks avoids it easily.
Clarks jabbing away but nothing is landing.

and Gaspar counters with a left to the body.
Gaspar uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Clarks.
Clarks has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.

Clarks fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Gaspar to the ground. Clarks is now in Gaspar's guard.
Clarks pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Gaspar is keeping the position for now.
Gaspar trying to keep a closed guard but Clarks is proving a slippery customer.

Clarks wants to stand up, so he's looking to wriggle free of Gaspar's closed guard. He's half up but Gaspar has locked on to an arm! Uh oh! Gaspar pivots and extends the arm, Clarks falls face first to the mat and taps??... does he?? YES! He's tapping! Excellent counter grappling there by Gaspar! Well done that man!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A telegraphed right hand from Darwin misses the target.
Brooksbank shoots in looking for a takedown but Darwin manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Brooksbank's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
It looked like Darwin wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Darwin, as that shot connected.

We've been informed that Jung has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result.

Manowaru lands a big uppercut and Jung crumbles to the floor! The ref thinks about stopping the fight but Jung looks OK. Manowaru waves Jung back to his feet!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Sakuraba crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Alvado - the referee stops the clock and Sakuraba gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Alvado. Sakuraba manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.
Both these guys seem content to just stand up and trade with eachother but Sakuraba might want to think about changing up his gameplan a bit because over the course of the fight, Alvado has got the better of the exchanges.
