Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Vlad Putin (ranked 4639 p4p, 452 weight class) and DJ Strawberry (ranked 2446 p4p, 262 weight class). Putin kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is IAMX - Happiness. Strawberry is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Beastie Boys-Brass Monkey. The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Strawberry throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Putin sees it coming and avoids it easily. Strawberry misses with a double jab
and Putin cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Strawberry shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Putin sprawls well. Putin wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Strawberry gets slowly back to his feet. Putin clinches with his opponent.
Strawberry's coach down at Official UFC Performance Institute Training Center was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Strawberry's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight. Putin with the Thai clinch. He's looking to land a big knee but he's not managed it this time.

In defeat, DJ Strawberry stepped up to the mic, saying 'i'm young and I will continue to get better, there is no doubt in my mind I will be a champ one day. Get on the bandwagon before its full.... Going to my after party. I got the blow and Chinese chicks waiting for me...'.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Smith thuds his shin into the meat of Tropical's side. Tropical throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
It seemed like Smith was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it. Tropical lands a jab to Smith's midsection. Smith keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Tropical bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Smith's head backwards. Tropical ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Smith moves away. We've been told by Tropical's head coaches at Damage Inc. that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight. The fighters circling - Tropical throws out the jab but it was never going to land. Tropical throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

Fietsora moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body. Romulus Fietsora seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Mayoniko rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Fietsora moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Fietsora goes for a high kick. It partially lands. Fietsora takes one on the chin but seems OK.

Fietsora tries to clinch but Mayoniko is having none of it. A looping hook to the body misses from Fietsora. Mayoniko does a little dance to reset his feet. A chopping leg kick lands by Mayoniko. Fietsora misses the jab. Mayoniko looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight. The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end. A big right from Mayoniko misses. Mayoniko shoots in but Fietsora avoids the takedown attempt easily. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Paterson kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Ce Fait Mal - La Founine. Carlyle has chosen Ladies and Gentlemen as his entrance music. Paterson has a slight injury, which hopefully won't affect the fight too much. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Paterson missing with a left hand there. Carlyle was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. Nice shot by Carlyle. Carlyle shoots in for a takedown but Paterson shows good takedown defense. Paterson buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Carlyle is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Carlyle takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Paterson is trying to escape the position but Carlyle is controlling the position. Carlyle goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Paterson has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Carlyle but great work by Paterson. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Carlyle can't do much from the bottom here. Carlyle is looking for a sweep. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Carlyle is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Paterson off and has taken his back! Carlyle patiently working for the choke. It connects and Brown has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage. Kyle throws a jab but it's blocked by Brown. Kyle sets himself, and Brown steps forward looking for the clinch! Kyle avoids it this time. The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end. Kyle tries to clinch but Brown is having none of it. Brown seems to have recovered his senses. Kyle connects with a good straight punch right through the guard and follows up with a right hook and a left hook! That last one sent Brown tumbling to the canvas! Kyle pours on the pressure with more strikes and the referee has no hesitation diving in to stop the fight! Brown was done - good stoppage!

Reid wants to clinch. Lopette scores with a push kick. Lopette displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Reid throws out the jab. Lopette swings for the body but Reid moves out of range.

An inside leg kick lands from Anderson. Scorpion steps to his left, right into the path of a big body kick from Anderson. That one must have hurt. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Anderson throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Scorpion swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made. Scorpion smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button. Anderson throws a leg kick but Scorpion sees it coming and checks it nicely. Scorpion looks to land a combination but Anderson avoids it well. Kasey Scorpion is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight. Scorpion takes a swing at Anderson's ribcage but misses.
