17 - 20 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Steve Lucas! The judges for this bout are Paul Aken, Nard Betker and Radbod Blank.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Spong just misses with a punch to the body.
Lucas throws a left and a right that both miss
and Spong counters with a lovely straight right hand! A telegraphed right hand from Spong misses the target. Spong slaps away a takedown attempt from Lucas, before circling back to the center of the mat. A big left from Spong misses. Lucas shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Spong counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Lucas throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.
Spong thuds a left hand into Lucas's body. Spong showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Lucas.
Lucas tries for a takedown but Spong circles away easily and Spong makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range. Tyrone Spong has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Steve Lucas. Lucas looks winded! We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! No luck with that takedown attempt from Lucas. Lucas misses with a takedown and Spong counters with a stiff right hand. Lucas gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Spong.
That's one minute gone in the round. Spong looks to land a right hand but Lucas moved out of range. Spong is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot. Lucas takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt. Spong clinches up against the cage. Spong lands with a light punch inside. Spong breaks the clinch.
Spong moves into the clinch. Lucas is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Spong pulls him back up using the underhooks. With the fighters clinched against the cage, Spong creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut. Spong lands a body shot. Lucas can't get the takedown.

Spong manages to break the clinch.
This has been an exciting period of action! Spong feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Lucas sprawling to the canvas! Lucas rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Spong finish him?!
Lucas is rocked! Spong throws an uppercut from hell that sends Lucas clean off his feet! He's out cold! Spong stands back and admires his work as he thinks about that KO of the night award that is surely being wrapped up for him back stage.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Tyrone Spong! During a confident post fight interview, Tyrone Spong thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Young uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Pederson. Pederson has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Death Valley Training Facility in the buildup to the fight. A jab from Young misses. Pederson throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Young. Pederson falls off balance throwing a combination
and Young counters with a nice uppercut. Norman Pederson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. A lazy left from Pederson finds it's target. Young takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt. Pederson ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. It appears Pederson was looking to counter with a kick there. Pederson looks to land a left hand but Young moved out of range nicely. Young scores with a one two! Pederson had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes. Young fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Pederson looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath. Pederson lands with a straight right. Young didn't see that one coming. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Young pushing out the jab but it's not landing. Pederson takes a swing at Young's ribcage but misses. Pederson scores with a three punch combo!

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Young staying out of range there. Young throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Pederson sees it coming and avoids it easily. Pederson fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Young manages to avoid it. Pederson throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.

Dock is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Page connects with a couple of short punches. Page lands a couple of decent looking shots. Dock throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Page escapes and throws Dock's legs to the side, diving into side control! Dock is looking for a sweep. Page lands a nice forearm strike. Dock is not content to let Page control the position. Dock tries to bench press Page off him but Page keeps the position. Page is trying to get an arm triangle but Dock is defending well. Page is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Dock knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Page wants to take a breather but Dock is having none of it. Dock is trying to get back to full guard. Dock actively working from the bottom here. Page working the head and body with strikes. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Dock with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. Dock is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Page pulls his head out easily. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Potter prevents Hardy from getting back to his feet. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Hardy utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Potter pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Hardy is keeping the position for now.

You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Hardy. Outlaw Hardy is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Potter drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Hardy wants to get back to his feet but Potter drags him back down. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Hardy is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first. Potter working the head and body with strikes. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Hardy managing to avoid any damage from the strikes thrown by Potter.
