The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Four closes this distance looking for a takedown but Nine circles away. Nine swats away the attempt to clinch by Four. A shot to the body from Nine misses and Four counters with a head kick that drops Nine to the mat! Nine scrambles across the canvas and gets back to his feet, still wobbly!
Nine is rocked! Four tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Nine swivels and escapes. Nine is still on wobbly legs! Can Four finish him? Four tries for a takedown but Nine sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Test Four. That's going to take a lot out of him. Nine avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
A kick lands to the mid section there for Four. Nine drops his hands momentarily and Four needs no second invitation. He sets himself and throws a perfect high kick, that clips Nine just on the top of the head. Nine drops like a sack of potatoes to the canvas, out cold! Oooooooh yeah! Stick a fork in Nine - he's done!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A telegraphed takedown attempt from Tiote is defended easily by Fagan. Fagan misses with a wild combination.
We've been hearing reports that Tiote has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight. Paddy Fagan seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Fagan fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Tiote manages to avoid it. Tiote moves into the clinch successfully.

Fagan is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there. My spies in Rio Fight Academy inform me that Fagan has been getting involved in the gym's BJJ sparring sessions. Let's see whether that pays dividends! Fagan is looking for a kimura but Tiote is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Fagan to get the leverage. Alvado digs a good body shot into Lupei's ribs. Alvado definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight. A big right from Lupei misses. Alvado lands a body shot.

Alvado manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Alvado was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger. Lupei throws an overhand right that lands on Alvado's shoulder, as Alvado tries to avoid the shot. Marco Alvado is winning the standup battle so far. Lupei chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Alvado can pounce on him.

Lupei ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. Alvado lands with a nice body punch. Alvado lands a leg kick that knocks Lupei off balance momentarily. A lazy left from Lupei finds it's target. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Dominguez tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Nagasaki swivels and escapes. Nagasaki feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Dominguezs jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist! A momentary lapse in concentration from Nagasaki enables Dominguez to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Nagasaki manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Dominguez with a nice head shot there. Nagasaki utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Nagasaki wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now. MacGowan throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Chavez was covering up waiting for the punch and MacGowan finishes the takedown easily into guard. The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Pugberg shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Boaz sprawls well. Boaz wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Pugberg gets slowly back to his feet. Pugberg thows a left - swing and a miss! Nice defenses there by Boaz. Boaz has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance. Boaz bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Boaz trying to control the action but Pugberg is working from the bottom. It looks like Iain Tower has been cut. Good exchange - Zulu coming out on top. Zulu thows a left - swing and a miss! Zulu lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

Zulu tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked. Tower makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut. Tower wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
That's one minute gone in the round. Zulu lands a body shot. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Zulu scores with a nice hook to the head. Zulu stays in close to his opponent and throws a right hand to the body. Zulu lands a right hand. Zulu pushes Tower back against the cage and unloads with a body punch. Zulu lands with a short head shot on the inside. A right hand to the body from Zulu.
Tower tries to pull guard but Zulu holds him up against the cage and eventually Tower drops back down to his feet.
Tower will be looking to protect his midsection after taking some solid kicks to the body. Zulu goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
Zulu breaks from the clinch.
Zulu lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise. Thud! ouch! good body kick from Zulu - that will leave a mark!
Tower gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Zulu connects with the punch. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Tower throws a jab but it's blocked by Zulu.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Tower pushing out the jab but it's not landing. Tower drops his hands momentarily and Zulu takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head. Zulu sends Tower crashing to the mat with a devastating uppercut! Zulu is motioning to the referee to let Tower up. He wants to try and finish this one on the feet!
Tower is rocked! Tower ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Zulu moves away. Tower misses the jab. Zulu lands a big uppercut and Tower crumbles to the floor! The ref thinks about stopping the fight but Tower looks OK. Zulu waves Tower back to his feet! Oh Tower is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Zulu is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Tower. Tower drops his hands momentarily. Zulu doesn't need a second invitation, landing a shot to the temple. Tower staggers and falls to the mat and the ref dives in to save him from any more punishment. Tower doesn't seem happy with the stoppage but he was done.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:58 of round 3, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Kvame Zulu! Kvame Zulu is the new heavyweight champion! Kvame Zulu spent the whole post fight interview bigging himself up. It didn't go down that well with the fans after a while as they thought it was a bit arrogant.
