16 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Albert Ricci! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
32 - 20 - 2, fighting out of Las Vegas, Alejandro Sepulveda! The judges for this bout are Paul Tew, James Atkins and Donald Grub.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Sepulveda keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Sepulveda fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Ricci has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage. Sepulveda blocks the body kick.
Sepulveda has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Ricci is landing a low percentage of strikes. Ricci throws a jab when Sepulveda was well out of range. Sepulveda let fly with a counter punch to the body but it didn't land. Ricci misses with a left hand and Sepulveda counters with a lovely straight right hand! Ricci ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. Sepulveda thows a leg kick but Ricci checks it and Ricci counters with a leg kick. Sepulveda scores with a nice strike. and Sepulveda counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body. Ricci is looking to land body kicks. Sepulveda feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Ricci's calf. Ricci shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down. Ricci works Sepulveda's body with a nice hook. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Sepulveda throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. And Ricci counters with a quick kick to the body but Sepulveda blocks it. Sepulveda wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection. Sepulveda walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Ricci checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side. Ricci throws a series of punches but Sepulveda moves out of range. Ricci will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
Sepulveda swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made. Nice takedown defense from Ricci. No joy for Sepulveda on that attempt. Ricci appeared to be looking to counter that last move with a leg kick. Ricci misses with a low kick. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Ricci misses the shot to the body. Sepulveda throws a leg kick that misses. Sepulveda has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Sepulveda takes a swing at Ricci's ribcage but misses. Sepulveda is looking to clinch. Sepulveda wants to clinch. Alejandro Sepulveda is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight. Ricci moves forwards but Sepulveda connects with a nice, crisp jab. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Ricci misses the jab. A looping hook to the body misses from Sepulveda. Ricci does a little dance to reset his feet. Ricci gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Albert Ricci. Well Sepulveda has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Ericsson throws a lazy right hand but Slider sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Ericsson sets himself, and Slider steps forward looking for the clinch! Ericsson avoids it this time. Ericsson does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy. Ericsson uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Slider. Ericsson buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.

We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Chocolate has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat. A lazy left from Francis finds it's target. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Francis connects with a right hand. Chocolate shakes it off. Chocolate uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Francis.

Dolla lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin. Dolla throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land. Dolla looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it. Dolla takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Cole clinches up against the cage. Dolla tries a body shot but Cole blocks it.

He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that. Nice strikes from Cole there. The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Tanner with a hook. Wrexham throws a leg kick but Tanner sees it coming and checks it nicely. Wrexham misses with an uppercut. He isn't landing a great percentage of his ground strikes so far though. Ramses is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there. Jernit is pressing down on Ramses's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it. Jernit avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Jernit looking to hit a scissor sweep but Ramses is one step ahead there. Ramses pushes down on Jernit's leg and manages to get into half guard. The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end. Jernit is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Ground and pound from Ramses. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
