The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Karhu closes the distance and lands a one-two.

It looks like Un Real has been cut.
Karhu will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Jesse Karhu seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Real is really struggling to find his range with his punches. Karhu's reach advantage is clearly causing him problems.
Real bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
It looked like Real wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.
Karhu is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Real.
Real ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.

Real was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Karhu scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.

Karhu fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Real looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.

Un Real's cut is bleeding quite badly. He's got to try and protect it.

Ahvenus gets a double leg takedown into Menard's guard.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Menard can do anything to dispel that myth.

Ahvenus postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.
Ahvenus slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Menard really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Ahvenus. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Simpson lands an uppercut out of nowhere! Keskinen falls backwards - clearly groggy! Simpson dives in and finishes the fight with more strikes for a TKO finish!
