The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kurtev throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Makres's waist but Makres gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Kurtev off to one side.
Makres looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.

We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that McRobbie has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.

Tosen drops Trudeau onto one knee with a big uppercut from the clinch! Trudeau is propped up by the cage and works his way back to his feet!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
The fighters are playing wrist control here with Trudeau pressed against the cage. Tosen frees himself up and cracks Trudeau with an uppercut straight from the bowels of hell! Trudeau crumples to the floor, out cold! Tosen jumps on to the cage and takes in the roar of the crowd! That was nasty!

Jun dives in and grabs Lurkman's left leg, looking for a takedown. Lurkman pushes down on Jun's head and hops out.

Jun shoots in for a takedown but Lurkman shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Steven Lurkman has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Zhang Jun.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
