The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice sprawl there from Hagler as Priest shoots in.
Priest has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Touch Of Death Combat Academy in the buildup to the fight.
Priest misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Hagler changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
Hagler keeps the fight on the outside.
Marcus Hagler seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Priest looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Hagler is fending him off so far but Priest persists. Nope, Hagler circles away and we're back to standing.

Priest on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.

Hagler lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Priest is hobbling a little on that front leg after taking quite a few leg kicks so far in this fight.
Hagler fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Priest.
Hagler has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Priest is landing a low percentage of strikes.

and Hagler counters with a three punch combo that has Priest backing up. Priest nods at Hagler to acknowledge the strikes.

Priest looks like he's developed a pretty tasty lump over his left eye. He'll need to avoid taking much more damage to that.

Priest fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Hagler to the ground. Priest is now in Hagler's guard.

Priest throws a strike but Hagler rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Hagler really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Priest. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Priest controls Hagler momentarily but Hagler frees himself.
Hagler stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Priest swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Dawson's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Titanic theme.
