The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Horrible takedown attempt by Makhacevov or perhaps it was just good defense by Mike, which made it look bad.

Pettis feints a jab promting Toshiyuki to slip. Pettis then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Toshiyuki slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.
Pettis clobbers Toshiyuki with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
Ohhhhh! A huge head kick from Pettis! Toshiyuki is out on his feet! Pettis rushes in and throws more strikes. The ref is looking closely - Toshiyuki is covering up but the punishment is just too much and the ref steps in to stop the fight! Toshiyuki is staring into space, just thankful that the beatdown has ended. Brutal finish.

A very excited looking Michael Pettis rambled incoherently for about 5 minutes post fight about how awesome he is. It was kinda funny for a while but then everyone got annoyed.

Orion lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

Orion feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Sepi sprawling to the canvas! Sepi rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Orion finish him?!

A jab from Lee finds it's way through Toews's defenses.
Toews shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Lee as he avoids it easily.
Toews doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Lee ducks right into an uppercut from Toews.
Lee scores to the head and body with a nice combination!

It looks like Jonathan Toews has been cut.

Lee lands a big uppercut and Toews crumbles to the floor! The ref thinks about stopping the fight but Toews looks OK. Lee waves Toews back to his feet!

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Oh Toews is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Toews takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Toews seems to have got his legs back now.

Lee feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Toews sprawling to the canvas! Toews rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Lee finish him?!

and Lee counters with a huge left! Toews is in big trouble! He's backing up but Lee isn't giving him chance to recover. Under a barage of punches the ref has to step in to save Toews from any more damage. A dominating finish by Lee!

Ginger Lee decided to call for a title shot in his post fight interview, which was very strange given the fact this fight was for a title and he's already the champion. I guess that's what getting punched in the head does for you.
