Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
30 - 11 - 1, fighting out of London, Archie Griffiths! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
17 - 8 - 1, fighting out of Los Angeles, Monte Cassino! The judges for this bout are Shigeki Sano, Shirou Masuda and Hirohito Nitta.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Cassino displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Griffiths throws out the jab. Cassino follows through with a counter body kick but it doesn't land. Griffiths does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy. Cassino throws a push kick but Griffiths slaps the foot to one side. Griffiths dips down and scores with a jab to the body. That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Cassino crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Griffiths - the referee stops the clock and Cassino gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Griffiths. Cassino manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes. Griffiths uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Cassino. A jab from Cassino does it's job there. Cassino loads up on a big right hand but Griffiths slips the punch. Cassino keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Griffiths. Griffiths bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut. Griffiths uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Cassino.

In favor of your winner, by majority decision... Monte Cassino! A very excited looking Monte Cassino rambled incoherently for about 5 minutes post fight about how awesome he is. It was kinda funny for a while but then everyone got annoyed.

Semenko is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here. Ispa tries for a kimura but Semenko is defending well. Ispa thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Semenko is pushing Ispa's head away, looking to escape. Ispa manages to hold on to the position though. Ispa is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Semenko knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Semenko is not content to let Ispa control the position. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Semenko is looking to score with low kicks. Ispa clobbers Semenko with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise. Tank Ispa seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Ispa shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Semenko counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Semenko misses the jab. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Semenko with the Thai clinch. He's looking to land a big knee but he's not managed it this time.
Ispa lands an elbow that stopped Semenko in his tracks for a moment. Ispa lands a nice elbow. Ispa pushes off an throws an elbow but Semenko leans to the side and avoids it. We're back to clinching against the cage. This has been an exciting period of action! A short left from Semenko. Ispa lands a takedown into guard.

That's one minute gone in the round. Semenko is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Ispa is controlling him. Semenko keeping moving, preventing Ispa from controlling successfully. Semenko is looking to stand up but Ispa isn't so interested in that idea. Ispa trying to control the position from guard on top but Semenko is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Ispa is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Semenko is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him. Ispa prevents Semenko from getting back to his feet. We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

Semenko bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Ispa's head. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Semenko cracks Ispa with an open hand slap. Semenko avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

Ispa is rocked! Semenko cracks Ispa with a nasty uppercut that draws ooohs from the crowd and sends Ispa tumbling backwards onto the mat. He tries to recover but Semenko pounces and lands a hail of unanswered strikes that forces the referee to step in to end the fight! Ispa is not happy but he gave the referee no choice!
