The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Wyatt lands with a shot to the body. Mendes shoots in for a takedown but Wyatt shows good takedown defense. Wyatt tests Mendes's chin there with a solid looking shot. Wyatt scores with a hook. Wyatt scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one. Mendes tries to close the distance and clinch but Wyatt swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Mendes throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Wyatt was covering up waiting for the punch and Mendes finishes the takedown easily into guard. Wyatt wants to stand but Mendes is controlling the position. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Wyatt wriggles free and stands up. Bandicoot is looking to stand up but da Cunha won't let him. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. da Cunha tries to land a sweep but no joy. da Cunha is pulling down on Bandicoot's head to control his posture. da Cunha trying to keep a closed guard but Bandicoot is proving a slippery customer.

Possibly, maybe, no da Cunha has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Bandicoot tries to bench press da Cunha off him but da Cunha keeps the position. Bandicoot is not content to let da Cunha control the position. da Cunha tries for a kimura but Bandicoot is defending well. Bandicoot stops da Cunha from passing to mount.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Bandicoot shoots and misses and da Cunha decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Bandicoot's guard. da Cunha sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Bandicoot's guard.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Balkan swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Balkan cracks Souza with a big right hand that sends him crashing to the floor. Balkan has the opportunity to follow him to the ground but instead he's beckoning Souza to stand back up! Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Balkan lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Souza has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Souza and we're back underway with a touch of gloves. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Souza. Souza avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
