With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Charles Sanders! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Matt Cruz! The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Don Winkell and Jack Bonds.

Cruz displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Sanders throws out the jab. Cruz lands a body shot.
Cruz throws an overhand right that lands on Sanders's shoulder, as Sanders tries to avoid the shot. Cruz throws a jab when Sanders was well out of range. Cruz throws a shot to the body.
Sanders lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook. Cruz ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. A looping hook to the body misses from Cruz. Sanders does a little dance to reset his feet. No joy there for Sanders, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Sanders swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. A little jabbing left from Cruz on the counter but it doesn't find it's target. Cruz ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. Cruz misses with a two punch combination.
The crowd cheers as Cruz lands an impressive looking overhand right. Sanders doesn't seem phased though. Cruz has done a lot of speed work in the buildup to this fight. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Cruz getting the better of the striking in that exchange. Sanders scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction. Sloppy strikes from Sanders. Those never looked like landing.
That's one minute gone in the round. Sanders is trying hard to land a takedown here. Cruz sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Cruz looks like he wants to counter punch here. Sanders takes one to the chin there. Cruz will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Cruz is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
That's two minutes gone in the round. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Sanders wants to control but Cruz is keeping busy and won't allow it. The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Cruz lands a nice short elbow. Cruz wants to pass to mount but Sanders is defending the position. Cruz missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Cruz not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Cruz throwing shots but Sanders is blocking nicely. Cruz seems to be looking for submissions.
Sanders tries to get to full guard but Cruz has control of the leg. Cruz is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Sanders doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Cruz. Cruz landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Sanders avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Cruz. Ground and pound from Cruz. Cruz looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Sanders taking some punishment here, with Cruz in his half guard. Cruz is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Sanders sees it coming and defends easily. Cruz has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Cruz takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists. Sanders tries to roll over but Cruz keeps him under control. Cruz passes to full mount! Cruz lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The referee warns Sanders that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
Sanders is rocked! Cruz is in full mount looking to finish with strikes. He lands a big shot, followed by another and Sanders goes limp! The ref jumps in to end the fight - a big win for Cruz!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Callaway rushes Kras and presses him up against the cage. Callaway should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete. Callaway lands a left hand that snaps the head of Kras backwards. Callaway has had enough of the clinch but Kras keeps him there for the moment. Kras has Callaway pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Kras pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Callaway tumbling to the mat - Kras dives into Callaway's guard. Kras stands and throws Callaway's legs to the side, diving into side control. Kras cracks Callaway with a big elbow. Callaway is trying to get back to his feet. Kras lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face. Kras will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Callaway is trying to buck Kras off. Callaway takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
Kras lands a big left to the face of Callaway, bouncing his head like a basketball. Another shot from Kras and another - Callaway is out! Kras stands up and salutes his fans, who are going crazy in the stands.

Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Chai arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.

and Hartmann cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Hartmann gets a clinch. Hartmann breaks from the clinch.
Hartmann takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Bowen drops his hands momentarily and Hartmann takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head. Bowen swings for the body but Hartmann moves out of range.
Hartmann throws a series of punches but Bowen moves out of range. Hartmann shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it. Hartmann works Bowen's body with a nice hook. Hartmann really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Bowen slips a jab and a cross from Hartmann.
Bowen throws a head kick but Hartmann moves out of range.
Bowen swings and misses with a shot to the body and Hartmann connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Bowen tries to land a front kick but Hartmann steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed. Hartmann is looking for a counter combo. Bowen tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Hartmann was well out of range. Poor timing from Bowen. Hartmann fakes a jab and then connects with a hook. Bowen avoids a punch combination nicely.

Hartmann cracks Bowen with a right hand to the side of the head. Bowen misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Hartmann throws a right and a left that both miss. Hartmann feints a jab promting Bowen to slip. Hartmann then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Bowen slips again and ducks right into an uppercut. Bowen is rocked! We've been told by Hartmann's head coaches at UnderGround BJJ & MMA that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight. Hartmann avoids a lazy jab quite easily. Hartmann has Bowen up against the cage in a clinch.

Hartmann escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Bowen looks to clinch and Hartmann counters with a takedown into side control. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Hartmann connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Bowen some visible discomfort.

Singh throws a lazy right hand but Hughes sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Hughes 's jab looks to have found its range, popping Singh under the eye. Singh misses with a double jab.

Watts has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Sanchez is landing a low percentage of strikes. Watts connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Sanchez momentarily.

I think Rua might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Champion. Archer comes into a darkened arena with his song building. With a record of 9 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jonathan Archer! The judges for this bout are Percy O'Donnell, Frank Antenori and Don Winkell.

I was talking to Rua's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight. Archer tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage. Rua manages to break the clinch.
