Podkalns tries to clinch up.
Mythos went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected.

Podkalns closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Podkalns lands in his opponent's guard.

Mythos is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Willis closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Lopez is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.
Willis prevents Lopez from breaking the clinch.

Lopez breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Willis lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Willis.
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Lopez lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Willis has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Willis and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.
Willis ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Lopez moves away.
Lopez finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.
Willis shoots in looking for a takedown but Lopez manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Willis's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Duncan Farquharson!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Barnes works the jab nicely.
Barnes thows a leg kick but Farquharson checks it
and Farquharson counters with a body kick that brings a smile to the face of both fighters.
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Farquharson crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Barnes - the referee stops the clock and Farquharson gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Barnes. Farquharson manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.
Barnes scores with a jab to the jaw.
Farquharson uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Barnes.
Farquharson raises up his leg as if looking to counter with a high kick.
Farquharson checks a leg kick nicely.
Farquharson steps in looking to counter with the mid kick but it doesn't connect.

As Barnes backs off Farquharson throws a huge counter combo but Barnes manages to avoid it all.

Barnes misses with an uppercut. Farquharson saw that one coming.
Barnes tries to score with a low kick but Farquharson moves his leg out of the way.

and Farquharson counters with a head kick that drops Barnes to the mat! Barnes scrambles across the canvas and gets back to his feet, still wobbly!
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

and Farquharson makes the exchange count by landing a cracking kick to the body. Barnes really felt that one!

Lecter cracks Don with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.
Lecter thuds a left hand into Don's body.
Lecter throws a looping overhand right but Don ducks down to avoid it.
Lecter scores with a sloppy right hand. Don should have avoided that one.
Lecter's jab looks to have found its range, popping Don under the eye.
Lecter throws out a loose jab but Don uses good head movement to avoid it.
Lecter scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent.
Lecter throws a shot from downtown. Don moves away and avoids it.
Lecter throws a hook but Don blocks it.
Lecter lands with a shot to the body.
Don uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Lecter.

Lecter jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Lecter is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Don.
Don appears to be looking for a counter takedown.

A looping hook to the body misses from Lecter. Don does a little dance to reset his feet.

Lecter is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Don had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into mush.
Lecter lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Don at a distance.

Nice uppercut lands for Lecter. That snapped Don's head back.
Lecter throws a lazy uppercut

and Don counters with a shoot takedown. Lecter fights it but they end up in guard.
Lecter wants to stand but Don is controlling the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Lecter can't keep his opponent in guard - Don advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Don throwing shots but Lecter is blocking nicely.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Don passes to side control.
Lecter managing to avoid any damage from the strikes thrown by Don.
Lecter is looking to reverse the position.
Don lands a few punches from side control.
Don has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Don tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Don has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Lecter managing to avoid any damage from the strikes thrown by Don.

Don has hold of Lecter's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! Lecter tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Don cranks the arm and Lecter screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Lecter, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Americana). Monty Don!
Monty Don decided to thank the fans in attendance for making a great atmosphere. It seemed to go down pretty well.

Litoris lands a slapping body shot.
Litoris lands a nice hook to Dent's body. Dent takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Dent takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Dent looks winded!
Litoris throws out a powerful jab.
Dent takes a body punch but keeps moving.
Litoris connects with a right hand. Dent shakes it off.
It looks like Bobby Dent has been cut.

Litoris feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Dent sprawling to the canvas! Dent rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Litoris finish him?!
Dent is rocked!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Dent gets tagged by a hook that puts him to sleep! Litoris points and yells something to his unconcious foe before strutting off. Dent wakes up just in time to hear Litoris thank his coaches in the post fight interview.

Turner rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Majors moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

and Majors counters with a left and a right that stings Turner.
Turner missing with a left hand there. Majors was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Majors scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent.
Majors moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.
Turner looks winded!
Majors stalks Turner and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Turner's face. Turner staggers backwards, shaken.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Turner throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Majors lands an overhand right.
Majors closes the distance and lands a crisp combination that knocks Turner out cold! Turner corner are devastated, head in hands behind our commentary position. Poor guys.
