Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Josh Marmalade! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Gregor Saabo! The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Percy O'Donnell and Timothy Bukovac.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Marmalade darts in and clinches Saabo up against the cage. A shot in the inside from Marmalade. Marmalade's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Saabo throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena. Saabo throws a lazy head kick and Marmalade counters with a lovely straight right hand! Saabo throws a head kick that lands with a deafening thwack! The crowd roars as Marmalade stumbles backwards and falls to the mat. Saabo follows into mount! Marmalade is rocked! It looks like Josh Marmalade has been cut. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Saabo tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. Oh Marmalade is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!! Marmalade seems to have got his legs back now. Saabo wants to control but Marmalade has made it back to half guard. Nice work. Marmalade trying to hold on to Saabo's head to control him but Saabo postures up.
That's one minute gone in the round. Marmalade is pressing down on Saabo's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it. Marmalade manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Saabo manages to get himself to full guard.

Marmalade keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action. Marmalade has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent. Saabo manages to create a bit of space in order to work his way back to his feet. Marmalade keeps hold of his opponent and drives him back against the cage. I was talking to Marmalade's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight. With the fighters clinched against the cage, Marmalade creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Still in the clinch, Marmalade scores with a nice short uppercut. Marmalade lands an uppercut. Saabo wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Marmalade has him pressed against the cage. An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Marmalade. A head punch blocked on the inside by Saabo. Saabo has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate. Marmalade lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Still in the clinch, Marmalade scores with a nice short uppercut. Marmalade lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Saabo backwards. Marmalade makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut.

Saabo covers up and Marmalade unloads with more strikes until the referee steps in to end the bout!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Rosensteiner shoots in but no luck this time. Good leg kick by Li. Li throws a chopping leg kick but Rosensteiner manages to avoid taking any serious damage. Rosensteiner tries to counter by clinching up but Li breaks away and moves out of range. Li moves in looking to clinch but Rosensteiner pushes him off. Rosensteiner appears to be looking for a big counter. Li stuffs the takedown. Li throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Li tries a head kick but it misses.
Rosensteiner is looking for a counter combo. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Li pushes Rosensteiner up against the cage in a clinch. Li with an attempt at a knee that misses.

That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Collins gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard. Collins is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Tonon seems to be looking for submissions.

Averescu listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut. Averescu lunges at Walsh with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Walsh's hand. We've been hearing reports that Walsh has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight. Averescu lands with an overhand left. Walsh has a takedown stuffed. Walsh misses with a takedown attempt - Averescu sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Averescu tries to counter with a clinch but Walsh shakes him off and moves away. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Walsh loses concentration momentarily and Averescu pounces with a three punch combo! Right, left, right! Walsh crashes face first to the mat, out cold! Averescu finishes this one with a fantastically precise combo! Great stuff.

Artag steps in looking to clinch after the strikes miss from Rizzo. A nice inside leg kick there by Artag. That's going to slow Rizzo down. Rizzo takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor. Rizzo with a jab. Rizzo blocks a jab. Artag thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on Rizzo if he has to take too many more of those.

You could hear that one land in a back row.

I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
