That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Romulus Gerber.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 17 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Mike Haggar!
The judges for this bout are William Gold, Sam Margolis and James Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Haggar missing with a left hand there. Sasaki was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Sasaki throws a body punch but Haggar moves out of range.

We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Haggar has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.

Haggar lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
It looks like Haise Sasaki has been cut.

We've been told by Sasaki 's head coaches at Brooklyn Mixed Martial Arts that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.

Haggar tests Sasaki 's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Sasaki pulls out of a head kick attempt.

Sasaki lands a big head kick that sends Haggar tumbling to the mat! Sasaki takes a step backwards and waves Haggar back to his feet - he wants the finish!

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Sasaki connects with a left and a right that sees a clearly hurt Haggar covering up! Sasaki comes in with a big uppercut and Haggar goes doooown! He's slumped up against the cage, eyes staring blankly into space.

Haise Sasaki really struggled to get his t-shirt on before his hand was raised. Making sure that Brooklyn Apothecary logo gets some air time is pretty tricky when you're all sweaty.
