These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Mint darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Fungas scrambles, trying to get to his feet, but Mint manages to mount him!
Fungas wants to hold on but Mint pushes him away.
Fungas is trying to escape the mount.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
You get the feeling that Fungas really doesn't like being in this position too much.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Fungas working to try and regain half guard.
Mint with shots to the head and body - Fungas looks very uncomfortable down there.
Mint looking to ground and pound but Fungas is blocking nicely.

The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Mint cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
Mint lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.

Fungas is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.

Mint is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Fungas can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

Mint lands a big shot there that rocks Fungas but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.

Well, with Mint on his back, surely it's only a matter of time before Fungas is tapping out... Can he escape the position?

It looks like Mint might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.

Travers paying the price for stalling here - he's pushing hard on the arm trying to free himself but it's no use! He's tapped! WOW, quick submission from Imanari - great work!
