Ribbit chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Sonni can pounce on him.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! McCarty on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
It looks like Darren McCarty has been cut. Avisu Kona gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there. McCarty swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

Avisu Kona cracks a nice hook into McCarty's ribs. This has been an exciting period of action! The fighters circling - McCarty throws out the jab but it was never going to land. McCarty takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it. McCarty takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him. Avisu Kona connects with the punch. McCarty is rocked! Avisu Kona lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected. Avisu Kona drops McCarty with a naaaaasty hook - McCarty is in real trouble here! Avisu Kona dives in to side control and pounds out his opponent for a TKO victory! The crowd goes nuts!

A very excited looking Santu Avisu Kona rambled incoherently for about 5 minutes post fight about how awesome he is. It was kinda funny for a while but then everyone got annoyed.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Torsten throws a body shot but no joy. Torsten has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Dr Hatsumi's Clinic in the buildup to the fight. Torsten shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it. It looks like Baldur Torsten has been cut. Edmond checks a leg kick nicely. Torsten uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook. Edmond swings away with a body shot that misses
and Torsten counters with a nice uppercut. Torsten throws a low kick but Edmond avoids it. Torsten connects with a body shot. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Edmond misses the body punch and Torsten counters with a nice uppercut. Edmond throws a combination that misses and Torsten counters with a nice leg kick. Edmond throws a head kick that misses. Edmond misses with a kick to the body.

Edmond throws a series of punches but Torsten avoids them all with ease. Edmond showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Torsten.
Nice cross by Torsten. Edmond throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land. Torsten was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Torsten connects with a right hand. Edmond shakes it off. Nice uppercut lands for Torsten. That snapped Edmond's head back.
Edmond lands a big head kick that sends Torsten tumbling to the mat! Edmond takes a step backwards and waves Torsten back to his feet - he wants the finish! The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Torsten fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Edmond has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage. Edmond takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Edmond gets caught by a big overhand right and goes down! Torsten gets on top of him and starts throwing some serious punches until the ref intervenes and stops the fight!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:42 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Baldur Torsten! Baldur Torsten retains his light heavyweight title! A relieved looking Baldur Torsten thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
