Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Amazing Billy (ranked 5692 p4p, 25238 weight class) and Juha Maenpaa (ranked 646 p4p, 793 weight class). Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice defenses there by Billy.

Billy shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Maenpaa's guard.
Billy with a flurry of punches that miss.

Billy throws a strike but Maenpaa rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Maenpaa really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Billy. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Billy is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

The referee calls for the fighters to work.

Maenpaa felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.

Billy drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Maenpaa manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Billy has Maenpaa in his guard.


Billy working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Maenpaa doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Maenpaa manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Pageau drops Eighteen with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Eighteen looks back up at him and smiles so Pageau waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.

Pageau lands a brutal uppercut that launches Eighteen off his feet! Eighteen tumbles to the floor, barely conscious - the referee jumps in to save him from a beating! Wow, what an ending!
