The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Vakaloloma thows a leg kick but Yoshida checks it

and Yoshida counters with a takedown into side control.

Yoshida stands up and we're back to a striking position.
Vakaloloma ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Vakaloloma swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
A nice leg kick lands there from Yoshida.

Yoshida fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Vakaloloma sprawls well initially but Yoshida persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Vakaloloma really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Yoshida. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Yoshida is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Vakaloloma doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Yoshida.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Vakaloloma moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Our spies down at at Cozad MMA Sydney inform us that Vakaloloma has really been working on his submissions in the buildup to this fight. Will it pay off?

Yoshida has thrown up a leg looking for a triangle. Vakaloloma doesn't defend quickly enough and Yoshida has managed to lock this one up! Can Vakaloloma escape?! NO! He's tapping out! Damn, that was a quick submission - congrats to Yoshida on a fantastic submission victory.

Druff content to sit in guard, stalling... Great. Oh but he could get punished here because Brothers has locked up a guillotine! Brothers's face is contorted as he sqeezes tight on the submission attempt - will he finish? Druff is holding on here and Brothers must be using up a lot of energy. Druff has gone limp! He's out! He's out cold! Brothers gets to his feet, tossing aside his stricken foe. Arms raised, he milks the applause from the crowd. Great submission!

Kiyashko feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Hunt looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Hunt bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Kiyashko's guard.


Hunt postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Kiyashko is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Hunt, into his guard.

Kiyashko won't allow Hunt to sweep him here.
Kiyashko wants to get up but he can't break Hunt's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Kiyashko is sitting in close to Hunt's body. Hunt has gone for a guillotine from the bottom. Oh damn, that looks pretty tight! Kiyashko is panicking - it looks like this one could be all over! Yes, Kiyashko is tapping! That was a very nice submission by Hunt.

Ponjevic is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Reem is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Reem has escaped and now he's on top!

A jab and a right hook connect and Torres buckles badly as his eyes roll back. The referee steps in and saves Torres!! Torres is complaining but he was clearly out on his feet. Kyrvänsyylä throws his mouthpiece into the crowd. Mmmm spit-tastic.

A very excited looking Einar Kyrvänsyylä rambled incoherently for about 5 minutes post fight about how awesome he is. It was kinda funny for a while but then everyone got annoyed.
Pablo Torres was interviewed post fight and said 'I will try to have great comeback!'.
