With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Barry Jones! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 2 - 5 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jack Johnson! The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Percy O'Donnell and Frank Antenori.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Johnson on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
Jones darts in and out, connecting with a jab. Barry Jones seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Johnson fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Jones, pushing him back against the cage. Johnson has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Jones avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch. Johnson pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Johnson connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt. Santiago keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Braxton. Santiago feinted with a counter takedown. Santiago uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Braxton. Santiago attempts a counter takedown but Braxton avoids it well and moves away. Braxton connects with the punch. Braxton misses with a right hand and Santiago decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Braxton's guard. Santiago passes into half guard. Santiago works his way into side control. Santiago has improved his flexibility recently so we will have to see if he can use that to his advantage.
