Kyrylo swings away with a body shot that misses

Kyrylo can't find room to land a body shot as Putangina controls the action.

Kyrylo has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
Putangina shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Kyrylo pinned against the cage. Kyrylo gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Putangina changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Kyrylo tries to avoid it but Putangina manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Kyrylo to the ground. Kyrylo escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Chaikka Chai (ranked 769 p4p, 1220 weight class) and Musa Vitalik (ranked 110 p4p, 176 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Chai might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Dead Man Walking. Vitalik has chosen Planet Purge - Midnight Tyrannosaurus & Ehide as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 3 - 1, fighting out of London, Chaikka Chai!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Musa Vitalik!
The judges for this bout are Ben Zyskovitsi, Anni Minnemäki and Matti Vanhoillinen.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Vitalik jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Chai lands a jab to Vitalik's midsection.
Vitalik scores with the left hand. Chai knows he should have avoided that one.
Chai misses with a head kick.
Vitalik takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
We've been told by Chai's head coaches at Master Chai's Dojo that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
Chai fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Vitalik manages to avoid it.
Chai works the jab nicely.
Vitalik misses with an uppercut. Chai saw that one coming.
Chai lands a big head kick that sends Vitalik tumbling to the mat! Chai takes a step backwards and waves Vitalik back to his feet - he wants the finish!
Vitalik is rocked!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Vitalik tries to check a leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
Vitalik is still on wobbly legs! Can Chai finish him?
Chai misses with a hook. Vitalik ducked under it nicely.
Chai misses with a looping right.
Vitalik seems to have recovered his senses.
Vitalik avoids the body shot from Chai.
Chai lands a left and a right that send Vitalik crashing to the mat, dazed. Chai thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!
Vitalik just misses with a punch to the body.
Vitalik has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
Chai takes one to the chin there.
Vitalik takes a swing at Chai's ribcage but misses.
That's one minute gone in the round.
A telegraphed right hand from Chai misses the target.
Vitalik is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here.
A chopping leg kick lands by Chai.
Chai leaves Vitalik with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
A big left from Vitalik misses.
Vitalik throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Chai on the side of the head.
Chai sends Vitalik crashing to the mat with a devastating uppercut! Chai is motioning to the referee to let Vitalik up. He wants to try and finish this one on the feet!

A slow jab from Vitalik misses its intended target.
Vitalik throws a sloppy body shot
and Chai counters with a slapping leg kick.
Chai throws a monster overhand right that drops Vitalik! Chai follows up with more strikes from mount and the fight is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:53 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Chaikka Chai!
Chaikka Chai retains his light heavyweight title!
A relieved looking Chaikka Chai thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
