Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 1 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Remington Knox!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Guillermo Rubio!
The judges for this bout are Hugh Johnson, Eliza Hachem and John Mangel.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Both fighters are only really looking to counter, so after a good 30 seconds of circling each other endlessly, the referee has stepped in and told them both to be more aggressive.
Rubio misses with a wild body shot.
It looked like Knox was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from Rubio.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Knox just misses with a punch to the body.
Knox throws a predictable looking body shot
and Rubio counters with a left to the body.

Rubio throws a body punch but Knox moves out of range.
Rubio avoids the body shot from Knox.
Rubio looks to score with a jab to the body but Knox is just out of range.
A counter left hand to the body from Knox misses its target.
Knox jabs Rubio to the body, keeping him at a distance.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Knox throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Rubio now looks to counter with a shot at the body.
Knox could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Rubio keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Rubio is clearly trying to counter these attacks from Knox with a body shot.
Rubio takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Rubio fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Knox looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.

And that's the end of the fight!
Remington Knox showed his dominance in that final round.
Well Knox has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

The judges for this bout are Ben Hemmingworth, Chris Dean and Ben Watson.

Palhares drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.

Palhares working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Diaz manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.

Diaz looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.

Palhares is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.

Palhares is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Palhares wants to work for an arm triangle but Diaz is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

Palhares looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Palhares is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Diaz is just riding it out for now. Palhares eventually gives up the hold.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Diaz tries to roll over but Palhares keeps him under control.
