Thompson feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Gomes sprawling to the canvas! Gomes rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Thompson finish him?!
It looks like Gabriel Gomes has been cut.
Gomes shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Thompson defends it nicely.
Thompson cracks Gomes with a nasty uppercut that draws ooohs from the crowd and sends Gomes tumbling backwards onto the mat. He tries to recover but Thompson pounces and lands a hail of unanswered strikes that forces the referee to step in to end the fight! Gomes is not happy but he gave the referee no choice!

Johnny Brown has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Aleksandr Grishov.

Brown lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

Aleksandr Grishov seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Brown moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
