The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Thibodeaux fails with the takedown
and McSlide connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Thibodeaux misses with a takedown attempt
and McSlide counters with a right hand to the body.
Thibodeaux shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. McSlide defends it nicely.
A quick step to the side and McSlide tries to counter with a shot to the body but it doesn't connect.
Dorian McSlide has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Divinity Thibodeaux .
Thibodeaux has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from McSlide finds it's way round the side to connect with Thibodeaux 's head.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
McSlide circles away from the clinch attempt
and McSlide scores with a counter punch that sends Thibodeaux to the canvas! McSlide smells blood - he's punishing Thibodeaux with more strikes and the ref has stopped it! Thibodeaux has no idea where he is - he's tackled the ref... oh dear, poor guy, the crowd is in hysterics!

Smart throws a shot from downtown. Hipfury moves away and avoids it.
Smart throws out a loose jab but Hipfury uses good head movement to avoid it.
Hipfury is trying to avoid his opponent's strikes and get into the clinch.
Hipfury shoots in but Smart avoids the takedown attempt easily.

Smart closes the distance and clinches.
Smart's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.

Hipfury is trying to drag Smart to the mat but Smart just about manages to keep his footing. He used the ropes to his advantage there.

Hipfury shoots in but Smart avoids the takedown attempt easily.

and Hipfury counters with a three punch combo that has Smart backing up. Smart nods at Hipfury to acknowledge the strikes.
Smart throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Hipfury drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Smart defends it well.

Hipfury uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Smart.
Hipfury throws a feint and then finishes with a kick to the body.
Smart circles away from the clinch attempt
and Smart counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.

Hipfury clinches with his opponent.
Smart stalls.
Smart is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the ropes.

Hipfury breaks from the clinch.
Hipfury looks to land a left hand but Smart moved out of range nicely.
Smart throws a body punch but Hipfury moves out of range.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Smart swings and misses with a hook to the body.
