The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Orochi tries to keep at a distance but Smith has taken the fight into the clinch.

Orochi breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Smith tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Orochi paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Smith shoots in looking for a takedown. Orochi tries to sprawl out of it but Smith keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Orochi manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Smith wants to clinch.
Smith throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Orochi was about to counter that last move with a leg kick but changes his mind.
Orochi's coach down at BANZAI COMBAT ACADEMY TOKYO was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Orochi's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.
Smith throws a right hand that Orochi ducks under and follows up with a left that Orochi also avoids with ease.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
