The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Big Foot drops Late with a right and a left! Big Foot comes rushing in but Late regains his composure and manages to keep Big Foot in guard.
Late is rocked! It looks like Little Late has been cut. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Late keeping moving, preventing Big Foot from controlling successfully. Oh Late is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!! Big Foot wants to pass the guard but Late is keeping the position. Big Foot stops Late from standing up. Big Foot told us pre-fight that he has been working on his escapes in training. Toal has chosen Irish Pub Song as his entrance music. Doko Dokov had real problems making weight for this fight. After initially coming in at 156.5lbs, he had two hours to make the official fight weight. He made it but it will have taken a lot out of him to cut those extra few pounds. The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Dokov changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Toal tries to avoid it but Dokov manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Toal to the ground. Toal escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Toal tries to keep at a distance but Dokov has taken the fight into the clinch. Toal throws a punch but it's blocked by Dokov. Toal goes for a body shot but it's blocked.

Mfer throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Knox on the side of the head. Knox's coach down at Blacktalians MMA was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Knox's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight. Mfer blocks a head kick by Knox.
Knox takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor. Knox lands a big head kick that sends Mfer tumbling to the mat! Knox takes a step backwards and waves Mfer back to his feet - he wants the finish! It looks like Isopaa Mfer has been cut. This has been an exciting period of action! Knox throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Mfer throws a lazy right hand but Knox sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Mfer feints a jab promting Knox to slip. Mfer then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Knox slips again and ducks right into an uppercut. Mfer ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. Knox drops his hands momentarily and Mfer takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head. The fight moves into the clinch position. Mfer blocking some punches.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 25 - 14 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Aleks Nik! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 12 - 3 - 1, fighting out of Helsinki, Kulma Rauta! The judges for this bout are Nard Betker, Daniel Blasius and Paulsen Ambrosius.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A big right from Nik misses. Nik swings away with a body shot that misses
and Rauta counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Nik blocks a head kick by Rauta.
Nik fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done. We've been hearing reports that Nik has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight. A looping hook to the body misses from Nik. Rauta does a little dance to reset his feet. Rauta turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick. Rauta with a nice calf kick. Rauta takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket. It looks like Kulma Rauta has been cut. Nik looks to land a left hand but Rauta moved out of range nicely. Aleks Nik seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Rauta throws a front kick aimed at Nik's knee but Nik avoids it well. Nik closes the distance and clinches up with Rauta, looking for a takedown. Nik pushes Rauta against the cage but Rauta circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Nik with a poor takedown and Rauta counters with a nice uppercut. It looks like Aleks Nik has been cut. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Nik ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Rauta moves away. And an attempted straight right on the counter from Rauta! But no joy. Nik throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

That's one minute gone in the round. Nik scores with a jab to the jaw. Rauta thuds his right hand into Nik's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters. Rauta scores with a nice right hand.
Rauta walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Nik checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side. Nik scores with a nice right hand.
A decent looking cross lands there for Rauta. Nik uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Rauta.

Nik throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd. Nik with a nice cross. This has been an exciting period of action! Rauta misses with a low kick. Nik feinted with a counter takedown. Rauta with a nice cross. Nik fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Rauta avoids it really well and circles away. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Aleks Nik. That's going to take a lot out of him.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Rauta keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Rauta looks like he wants to counter punch here. Rauta is using his reach advantage to land shots from outside his opponent's range. Rauta shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down. Rauta throws a body kick that misses and Nik cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Rauta has been working his punching technique in the buildup to the fight and it appears to be paying off. Rauta lets loose with a powerful body kick. Nik will feel that in the morning. Nik tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Rauta was well out of range. Poor timing from Nik. Rauta throws a lazy head kick and Nik counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Nik lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

Rauta throws a low kick but Nik moves out of range easily. Kulma Rauta is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Rauta throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Nik sees it coming and avoids it easily. Nik throws out a powerful jab. Nik's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Rauta connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Nik scrambles back to his feet.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Nik throws a good cross that connects.
Rauta looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple. Nik takes a swing at Rauta's ribcage but misses. Nik misses the body punch and Rauta counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body. Rauta scores with a jab to the head.
Nik is really peppering his opponent's head with punches. Nik lands a nice hook to Rauta's body. Rauta takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes. Nik fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Rauta sprawls well initially but Nik persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Rauta has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Nik is working away from the top position though. Rauta is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Nik thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Rauta is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Rauta is doing well to control the position and prevent Nik from advancing to side control. Nik is figuring out what he wants to do next. Rauta avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Nik. The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Nik connects with a nice short shot to Rauta's temple. Nik has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Nik is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound. Nik is keen to just control but Rauta is a slippery customer. Rauta is looking for a sweep. Nik is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Rauta has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Nik is working away from the top position though. Rauta avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Nik. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Aleks Nik will probably get the nod. Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! Nik misses with a body shot
and Rauta cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Nik takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt. Rauta fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Nik checks it well. Nik throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

Nik looks to throw the jab but Rauta is out of range. Rauta has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight. Nik thows a left - swing and a miss! Rauta displaying good standup as he scores with a three punch combination. Nik looks to throw the jab but Rauta is out of range. Nik misses the jab. Rauta lands an overhand right. Nik misses with a wild body shot. Rauta takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Nik misses with a hook to the body
and Rauta counters with a stiff right hand.
That's one minute gone in the round. Rauta misses with an uppercut. Nik with a body punch. A glancing blow. Nik on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere. Rauta connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Nik's hands. Rauta thows a leg kick but Nik checks it and Nik counters with a nice double leg into side control. Rauta won't be happy with that. Nik cracks Rauta with a big right hand but Rauta just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
Nik is looking to take a break and control but Rauta is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Nik throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage. Nik tries to score with some ground and pound. Rauta controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage. Nik working the body and head with strikes.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Rauta struggling a bit here. Nik working away diligently from side control. Landing strikes effectively there - that will score him some points on the judges scorecards.

Nik is stalling here. Rauta is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Nik seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Rauta has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.

Rauta decides to stand back up. Rauta steps back and let's Nik get back to his feet. Nik misses with an uppercut. Rauta ducks under a wild hook from Nik. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Rauta throws out a loose jab but Nik uses good head movement to avoid it. Rauta misses with a straight left. Kulma Rauta seems to be getting the better of the standup. Nik blocks a jab. Nik moves into the clinch. Rauta misses with a punch to the body.

Rauta clobbers Nik with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Nik has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Rauta. Rauta lands with an uppercut that bounces Nik off the cage and back into range. Rauta wants to slow Nik down by chopping away at his legs. Rauta throws an overhand right that lands on Nik's shoulder, as Nik tries to avoid the shot. Nik digs a good hook to Rauta's body.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Nik swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Rauta. Rauta moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot. Nik misses with a straight left. Nik tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Rauta manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Rauta throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land. Rauta throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Rauta tries to sprawl but Nik drives through with a takedown into half guard. Nik misses with a head shot. Rauta uses the momentum to regain guard. Nik trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Rauta is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Nik is controlling him.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Nik is fighting to break Rauta's control of his arms but Rauta is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment. Rauta is trying to control the position but Nik postures up. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Nik accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Rauta keeping full guard, as Nik tries to pass. Nik loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. Nik throws a shot from downtown. Rauta moves away and avoids it. Rauta throws a body kick despite being completely out of range and Nik counters with a nice uppercut.
And that's the end of the fight! Kulma Rauta comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I think Rauta has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

A nice side step and Durant releases a counter shot to the body, but it doesn't find it's home. Johnson slips under a jab from Durant. Durant lands a nice hook to Johnson's body. Johnson takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes. Johnson checks a leg kick nicely. Johnson feinted there with a counter leg kick. Durant throws a lazy right hand but Johnson sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Durant swings and misses with a shot to the body and Johnson makes the exchange count by landing a cracking kick to the body. Durant really felt that one! Durant connects with a leg kick. and Johnson counters with a hugh head kick that removes Durant from consiousness! A brutal head kick knockout!
