The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A jab from Porfirigo finds it's way through Gomes's defenses. Gomes gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Porfirigo counters with a stiff right hand. Porfirigo instigates a clinch. Gomes is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Porfirigo pulls him back up using the underhooks. Porfirigo has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Gomes uses from the top position. Porfirigo pulls Gomes in to control the position. Porfirigo is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Lykmekov is looking to clinch but Halme is avoiding it.
Halme throws a right and a left that both miss. Lykmekov gets the takedown into side control. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Lykmekov taking a breather here. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Let's hope that Lykmekov has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Lykmekov advances nicely into full mount. You get the feeling that Halme really doesn't like being in this position too much.

Halme wants to improve position but instead he's given up his back. Shashlyk Lykmekov has got the better of the ground game so far. Lykmekov is throwing strikes from the back here. Oh that last one was to the back of the head. Lykmekov gets a warning from the referee. He throws another strike to the back of the head straight away though and the referee has seen enough. He breaks up the two fighters and stands them back up. Lykmekov gets a real talking to here and is lucky not to get a point deducted. Lykmekov apologises and we restart here on the feet.
Lykmekov shoots in looking for a takedown. Halme tries to sprawl out of it but Lykmekov keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Halme manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Halme throws a big counter combination but Lykmekov scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage. Halme looks for the body kick but Lykmekov saw that one coming. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Lykmekov closes the distance and pushes Halme back into the cage. Halme letting Lykmekov take a breather here. Halme blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Rusev shoots in for a double leg but Tawake sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Tawake has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Tawake rushes Rusev and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. Rusev is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though. Tawake lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage. Rusev is rocked! A short right from Tawake. Oh Rusev is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! This has been an exciting period of action! Tawake dips a shoulder and cracks Rusev with a mighty uppercut! Rusev falls back against the cage and Tawake unloads with a barrage of strikes! Rusev is completely out with his eyes open, only supported by the cage! Save him ref! Eventually the ref decides to do his job and jumps in - Tawake screams abuse at the incompetent official before going over to celebrate with his corner. Brutal stuff!

Anjo trying to control the position but Wheeler is working away. The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.

That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. No joy there for Anjo, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Anjo closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Wheeler to the mat! Wheeler manages to get full guard. Anjo got a little sloppy there for a moment and Wheeler has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Anjo has managed to get both his arms back between Wheeler's legs - danger averted. Wheeler working away from the bottom but not quite defensive enough there because Anjo has passed into half guard!
