Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 6 - 6 - 0, fighting out of New York, Glass Joe Jr! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Tahuso Norrez! The judges for this bout are Phil Schofield, Colin Fotheringham and James Atkins.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Norrez lands a lovely overhand right. Joe Jr misses with an uppercut. Norrez saw that one coming. Joe Jr throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Joe Jr throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Sloppy strikes from Joe Jr. Those never looked like landing. Norrez tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away. Norrez throws a lazy head kick and Joe Jr counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt. Joe Jr looks to land a right hand but Norrez moved out of range. Joe Jr keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Norrez. Joe Jr throws a series of punches but Norrez avoids them all with ease. Joe Jr avoids the body shot from Norrez.

Norrez fails to land with a series of punches.

and Norrez takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Norrez throws a body shot but no joy. Norrez dips down and scores with a jab to the body. Joe Jr lands a right hook to the body.

That's two minutes gone in the round. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Norrez advances to half guard. Joe Jr is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Joe Jr has his hands clasped together around Norrez's back. He's all about the action. The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Norrez lands a nice short elbow. Glass Joe Jr has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Norrez looks to score with a jab to the body but Joe Jr is just out of range.
And that's the end of the fight! Tahuso Norrez comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Norrez has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. Hurme wants to free his trapped foot but Paruzzi is holding on for dear life with his legs. Paruzzi is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Hurme's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Hurme's back! Hurme can't escape the position.
Hurme is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Paruzzi gets his way!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Madden throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Madden shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Tavares but Tavares pushes him off and we're back to square one. Madden fails with a takedown attempt. Tavares connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe. Madden shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Tavares as he avoids it easily. Tavares connects with a good right hand that stumbles Madden. Madden circles away out of range and recomposes himself. Madden fails to land the takedown. Tavares bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Madden's head. Madden slips under a jab. Madden looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. It seemed like Tavares was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it. Tavares throws a half hearted mid kick. Tavares has been working his punching technique in the buildup to the fight and it appears to be paying off.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Madden closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Madden is trying to control the action in half guard but Tavares is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Tavares is looking to improve his position.
Madden wants to free his trapped foot but Tavares is holding on for dear life with his legs. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. The fighters are battling for position here. Tavares manages to regain full guard. Nice work. Madden has gone for a leg lock! Tavares slips out almost immediately though and dives into Madden's guard. Tavares stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Madden swivels though and keeps the full guard.

That was a close round but I would say that Dmitry Boytsov will probably get the nod. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. Boytsov misses with a hook.
