With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Abbondanza Cellini! The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Cecil Peabody and Alan Glass.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A shot to the liver by Cellini. Beautiful body shot. Cellini connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son. Cellini throws out a token jab with nothing on it. Kalvis moves into the clinch. Kalvis blocks an uppercut.
Cellini swings wildly with an uppercut but Kalvis uses good head movement to avoid it. Kalvis lands with a short shot to the head. It looks like Abbondanza Cellini has been cut. Kalvis lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Cellini walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Kalvis checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side. Cellini gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Kalvis counters with a nice right hand that sends Cellini toppling to the canvas! Cellini scrambles and gets back to his feet - can Kalvis finish him?! Cellini is rocked! Cellini looks winded! Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Cellini misses with a double jab
and Kalvis counters with a massive hook, right on the button! He's out cold! Damn, that was naaaaaasty! Hopefully he'll be OK.

With a record of 5 - 7 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Kody Ruiz! The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Tiny Johnson and Frank Dennis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Ruiz drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. Headingery wants to sweep here but Ruiz controlling him for the moment. Ruiz with a nice head shot there. Ruiz landing with the ground and pound. Headingery working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Ruiz doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Ruiz manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Panda has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance. Panda tries to pull guard but Piedbatulo forces him back to his feet, against the cage. Piedbatulo changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Panda fights it off and pushes away nicely.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Conrad throws a low kick but Sims avoids it. Conrad rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Sims moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Conrad throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Sims. Some wild striking there from Conrad.
Conrad feints a jab promting Sims to slip. Conrad then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Sims slips again and ducks right into an uppercut. Conrad manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Sims on his heels. He'll look to pass Sims's guard now, I'm sure. Sims uses the cage to get back to his feet.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Horiguchi swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
