Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Rod Polamalu! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 3 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Harris Kobelikos! The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, George Francis and Wesley Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kobelikos misses with a combination
and Polamalu counters with a nice kick to the body. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Kobelikos. Kobelikos swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
letting Polamalu counter with a right hand. Polamalu stuffs the takedown attempt from Kobelikos. Kobelikos gets slowly back to his feet. Polamalu looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Polamalu swats away the attempt to clinch by Kobelikos. Kobelikos tries for a takedown but Polamalu circles away easily and Polamalu counters with a left to the body. Rod Polamalu has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Harris Kobelikos.
That's one minute gone in the round. A low kick from Kobelikos is predictable there and Polamalu counters with a lovely straight right hand! Kobelikos misses with a takedown attempt and Polamalu counters with a huge overhand right that connects right on the temple, sending him crumpling, face first to the floor! This one is all over! What a knockout!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:24 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Rod Polamalu! An out of breath Rod Polamalu thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
