Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Blue Gill (ranked 2208 p4p, 2367 weight class) and Felipe Montoya (ranked 186 p4p, 199 weight class). Gill comes to the cage accompanied by The Enemy - Big L. Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 6 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Blue Gill! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Felipe Montoya! The judges for this bout are Sosuke Kotani, Kenichi Hosakawa and Yuuki Gou.
 The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Gill catches Montoya with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong! Gill lands with a kick to the ribs.

Gill throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Felipe Montoya seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Gill takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it. Gill fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Montoya manages to avoid it. Montoya takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh. Montoya throws an ugly left hook that misses
enabling Gill to counter with a crisp jab. Gill fakes the leg kick and cracks Montoya in the body. Montoya scores with a sloppy right hand. Gill should have avoided that one. Gill has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Montoya blocks a head kick by Gill.

 That's one minute gone in the round. The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Montoya checks a leg kick. Montoya misses with a looping left. Gill tries to clinch but Montoya moves out of range. Gill has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Honu Arts in the buildup to the fight. Gill looks to land a body kick but Montoya moved away. Montoya will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Montoya throws a lazy right hand but Gill sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Gill feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Montoyas jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist! Gill wants to clinch but Montoya slips to the side and Montoya counters with a lovely shot to the body. Montoya throws a body punch but Gill moves out of range.
 That's two minutes gone in the round. Montoya throws a series of punches but Gill moves out of range. Montoya misses the shot to the body. Gill tries to work over Montoya's front leg with a kick but Montoya checks it. No joy there for Montoya, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Gill tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Montoya was well out of range. Poor timing from Gill. Gill misses the shot to the body. Montoya throws a right and a left that both miss. Gill is looking to wear down Montoya with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment. Gill pivots, looking for a leg kick but Montoya is out of range and Gill settles back down. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Montoya loads up on a big right hand but Gill slips the punch. Jab by Gill.
 That's three minutes gone in the round. Montoya rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Gill moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Montoya lands with a cross. Gill fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Montoya. Montoya dips down and scores with a jab to the body. Gill throws a predictable looking body shot
and Montoya connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Gill throws the kick towards the body but Montoya avoids it. We've been informed that Montoya has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight.
Gill takes the fight into the clinch. Gill tries to work over Montoya's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target. An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Gill. Gill lands with a short shot to the head. Montoya content to slow the pace in the clinch.
 That's four minutes gone in the round. Gill struggles to land a body shot inside as Montoya controls his hands.
Gill misses with a hook from the clinch. Gill works for underhooks and lands a body shot in the process.
Montoya breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Montoya throws a lazy right hand but Gill sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Gill throws a body shot but no joy. Montoya chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Gill can pounce on him.
Gill closes the distance and pushes Montoya back into the cage. Gill throws a head punch that misses. Gill makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut. Montoya can't break the clinch.
Gill lands a body punch in the clinch. Gill throws a punch but it's blocked by Montoya. A short uppercut from Gill. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Blue Gill will probably get the nod. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
Montoya throws a right and a left that Gill avoids nicely. Montoya throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. We are yet to see a takedown attempt from Montoya in the fight. On paper you would think he is the more dominant ground fighter so let's see if these unusual tactics pay off. The crowd cheers as Montoya lands an impressive looking overhand right. Gill doesn't seem phased though. Gill takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch. Gill keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Gill takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming. Montoya looks to land a combination but Gill avoids it well. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Gill misses with a hook. Montoya ducked under it nicely. Montoya connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head. Montoya swinging wildly here.

Felipe Montoya seems to be getting the better of the standup. Gill turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick. Gill avoids the body shot from Montoya.

Felipe Montoya showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!

Montoya lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin. Montoya's leg has a nasty welt from taking a succession of leg kicks. That must be slowing him down. Gill feints and then cracks Montoya's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Montoya down. Gill lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
 That's one minute gone in the round. Sloppy strikes from Montoya. Those never looked like landing. Montoya lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Gill at a distance.

Montoya takes a swing at Gill's ribcage but misses. Gill slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range. Gill connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Montoya's hands.

and Gill counters with a thumping low kick. Montoya defending well as Gill loads up on a big left hand. Montoya throws out a counter right but Gill avoids it with no problem. Montoya throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Gill thinks about countering with a head kick. Gill throws a sloppy head kick and Montoya moves out of range easily. Montoya ducks down and throws a hook to the body. Montoya misses with a wild body shot. Montoya fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Gill manages to avoid it.

Montoya tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Gill was well out of range. Poor timing from Montoya. Montoya tries to check a leg kick but that clearly hurt him. Gill misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Blue Gill. I think Gill has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

 The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Ness dives in for a single leg takedown but Lynch sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage. Lynch gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Ness.

Ness definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight. Ness is pulling down on Lynch's head to control his posture. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Ness is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Lynch lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected. Lynch lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
Ness ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. Ness tries to counter with a takedown but Lynch is quick to defend against it. Ness goes for a double leg but Lynch avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Lynch continues to drive forward. Lynch let fly with a counter punch to the body but it didn't land. Ness misses with a shot to the kidneys.

Lynch wants to control from the top but Ness keeps moving. Lynch is stalling in the full guard. Lynch wants to stand and escape but instead Ness has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.

You can see the frustration on Lynch's face as Ness controls the position. Ness lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face. Ness won't let Lynch get back to his feet... He wants to keep the fight where it is for now. Ness pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.
 That's one minute gone in the round. Lynch is bucking up trying to escape but Ness cracks him with another couple of good strikes. Ness looking to finish Lynch with some ground and pound. This is bad for Lynch! Rick Ness overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Lynch tries to reverse the position but Ness maintains control. Lynch taking shots to the head. Ness landing strikes from the mount and Lynch is in trouble!
Lynch is rocked! Oooooh, big shot lands for Ness! Lynch is hurt baaadly! Ness is firing away with more strikes - Lynch is covering up... the ref is warning him to do something. He's just covering up though still and the ref has to step in to end the fight! This one is all over!

Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight. Juggernaut tries to stall but Matsushima uses the opportunity to gain a better position.

It looks like Jordy Juggernaut has been cut. Jin Matsushima is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Juggernaut attempts a low kick but it misses it's target. Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 9 - 7 - 0, fighting out of New York, Giancarlo Zuniga! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Vincent Klasson! The judges for this bout are Sosuke Kotani, Tatsuya Matsuyama and Taro Takaoka.
 The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Zuniga throws a hook but Klasson avoids it easily.
Klasson shoots in and gets a takedown into Zuniga's guard. Klasson must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Klasson wants to pass the guard but Zuniga is keeping the position. Zuniga controls Klasson momentarily but Klasson frees himself. Klasson showing good wrestling skills to control the position. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Zuniga is on top in guard.
 We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Klasson is looking for a triangle but Zuniga pushes his legs off easily.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Zuniga sitting in guard, not really doing much.

 Klasson felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it. Zuniga trying to control the position but Klasson is working away. Klasson is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Zuniga asserts his dominance and retains side control. Klasson looks to move to half guard but instead Zuniga has passed into mount! Damn! Zuniga trying to control but he's not successful this time.

Klasson feints and as Zuniga raises his hands in defense, Klasson changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Klasson wants to pass the guard but Zuniga is keeping the position. Zuniga is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Zuniga is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Klasson stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush. Klasson throws a good cross that connects.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Vincent Klasson showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!

And that's the end of the fight! Vincent Klasson comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Klasson has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

 The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kingston uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook. Kingston definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight. Good shot there by Igor. Igor lands a glancing blow to the side of Kingston's head. Kingston misses with an uppercut. Igor connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt. The crowd cheers as Igor lands an impressive looking overhand right. Kingston doesn't seem phased though.
Kingston is rocked! A slow jab from Kingston misses its intended target. Oh Kingston is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! A punch combination from Kingston misses. Igor scores with the left hand. Kingston knows he should have avoided that one. Igor keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Kingston. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Sloppy strikes from Kingston. Those never looked like landing. Kingston misses with a few strikes there.

 The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Jackson tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Kinkead was well out of range. Poor timing from Jackson. A punch lands to the side of Kinkead 's head but he takes it in his stride. Jackson throws a body kick but he was well out of range there. Jackson misses with a hook. Jackson misses with a straight left. Kinkead tries to counter by clinching up but Jackson breaks away and moves out of range. The fighters circle momentarily. Jackson darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch. Kinkead gets cracked there but stands up to it.

Jackson working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Kinkead. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Jackson can do anything to dispel that myth.

 The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. Jackson is looking to chop away at Kinkead's legs. Jackson's coach down at 🥷 was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Jackson's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight. Jackson throws a hook but Kinkead blocks it. Kinkead wants to take advantage of his opponent's missed offense by moving into the clinch. Jackson throws a half hearted mid kick. Jackson moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot. Jackson scores with a jab. Kinkead acknowledges it with a nod of the head.
It looks like Jimar Kinkead has been cut. Kinkead on the wrong end of a nice hook. Jackson throws a hook but Kinkead avoids it easily. Jackson connects with a right hand. Kinkead shakes it off. Kinkead uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Jackson. Kinkead feinted with a counter takedown. Saul Jackson is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Kinkead takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
 That's three minutes gone in the round. Jackson's corner calls for a 1-2. Jackson obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range. Jackson ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Kinkead moves away. Jackson throws an ugly left hook that misses

Jackson has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight. Jackson throws a poor cross that misses
and Kinkead counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Jackson! You can see the frustration on Jackson's face as Kinkead controls the position. Kinkead's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Jackson parries the strikes from Kinkead easily there. Kinkead is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Jackson to escape.

Jackson tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Kinkead cranks the arm and Jackson screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Jackson, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.

With a record of 11 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Larry LeFell! The judges for this bout are Shigeki Fujiwara, Yasuomi Hirokawa and Yuuki Gou.
 The bell rings for round one and we are underway! LeFell tries to score a power double leg takedown but Potter sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten LeFell somewhat. We've been told by Potter's head coaches at Fight Club that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight. The fighters circling - Potter throws out the jab but it was never going to land. LeFell shoots in for a takedown but Potter shows good takedown defense. Potter uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before LeFell has time to react. Larry LeFell seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Potter lunges at LeFell with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by LeFell's hand. LeFell looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.
