Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Suu Kii Waan Tana (ranked 24677 p4p, 24765 weight class) and Jean Luc Picard (ranked 277 p4p, 276 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Suu Kii Waan Tana! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jean Luc Picard! The judges for this bout are Russell Pearce, Alyssa Summers and Joseph Jones.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kii Waan Tana looks to clinch and Picard counters with a body kick. Picard throws a lazy uppercut
and Kii Waan Tana counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. Kii Waan Tana seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense. Kii Waan Tana is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Kii Waan Tana trying to control the action but Picard is working from the bottom. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Kii Waan Tana thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Picard's head. Kii Waan Tana trying to mount his opponent but Picard defends it.

If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup. Kii Waan Tana slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. Picard is looking for a sweep.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Kii Waan Tana lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Picard down.
The referee asks Kii Waan Tana politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Kii Waan Tana prefers to stall for the moment though. Picard is looking to reverse the position. A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Kii Waan Tana bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Picard is looking to slip a leg under and get half guard but Kii Waan Tana is one step ahead and moves to full mount!

Kii Waan Tana jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Picard manages to avoid the submission attempt. Picard struggling a bit here. Kii Waan Tana is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Picard will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Kii Waan Tana stands up and we're back to a striking position. Jean Luc Picard is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Picard misses with a series of wild punches.
Picard has tried to improve his agility in the runup to this fight. Kii Waan Tana closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Picard's guard. Kii Waan Tana throws an elbow that misses. Picard uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Kii Waan Tana's guard. Nice move by Picard!
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Picard seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. Kii Waan Tana throws his legs up looking for a submission but Picard uses it to pass to side control.

A decent looking cross lands there for Picard. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Suu Kii Waan Tana. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Kii Waan Tana, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. With a record of 2 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Sig Freud! The judges for this bout are Joseph Jones, Columbo Gatti and Eddie Farnsworth.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Freud shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Freud was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Freud lands a decent elbow from side control. Rakotoarisoa is working to avoid the ground and pound but Freud connects with a decent elbow. Freud creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Rakotoarisoa sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike. Freud misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
Rakotoarisoa bucks up and tries to throw Freud off but instead Freud has got his back! Freud misses with punches from the back. Freud is throwing strikes but Rakotoarisoa counters by rolling into a better position. After a scramble, Rakotoarisoa regains half guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Freud thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Rakotoarisoa's head. The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Cruz lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
A big left from Cruz misses. Cruz has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Grapple in the buildup to the fight. Tar Monster moves into range and lands a nice leg kick. Tar Monster throws a looping overhand right but Cruz ducks down to avoid it. Cruz misses the body punch and Tar Monster connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Doctor throws out a loose jab but Gorilla uses good head movement to avoid it. Gorilla attempts a counter takedown but Doctor avoids it well and moves away. Doctor misses the shot to the body. Gorilla shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Doctor pinned against the cage. Doctor gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Doctor has done a lot of speed work in the buildup to this fight. Gorilla shoots for a double leg takedown but Doctor sprawls well. He's pushed Gorilla's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Doctor lands a big head kick that sends Gorilla tumbling to the mat!
