With a record of 5 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, George West! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Tawanda Zulu! The judges for this bout are Percy O'Donnell, Timothy Bukovac and Frank Antenori.
 The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Zulu has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Zulu there as he acknowledges the shot. Zulu takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming. West circles away from the clinch attempt.
West throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
West scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard.
Zulu moves into range and clinches up with West. West tries to circle away but Zulu has him pinned against the cage. Zulu lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of West backwards.
West breaks from the clinch.

West delivers a nice body kick. West has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Doom\'s Gym in the buildup to the fight. West fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Zulu manages to avoid it. Nice shot by West. West swats away the attempt to clinch by Zulu. West pushing out the jab but it's not landing. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Zulu tries to close the distance and clinch but West swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Zulu takes a body punch but keeps moving. West scores with a slapping inside leg kick. Zulu drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles. Zulu drops his hands momentarily and West takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Zulu wants to clinch up but West keeps it at a distance. West throws a hook but Zulu blocks it.

 The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Data bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. Grov misses with a hook. Data appeared to try and counter that last move with a leg kick. Data looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights. Grov throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Data. Grov looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight. Data throws a hook but Grov avoids it easily. Eliss Grov seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Grov takes a swing at Data's ribcage but misses. Grov scores with a sloppy right hand. Data should have avoided that one. Data throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Grov shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Data napping and manages to drive through into side control! Grov trying to control the position but Data is working away. Data holds on to Grov's head and controls the position momentarily. Grov controlling the position. Grov working away.

Data looks like he wanted to counter with a high kick but didn't throw it. Data throws a hook to the side of Grov's head but Grov sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. As Data looks to move away, Grov throws a big counter combo but Data just gets out of the way.
Grov throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Data tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Grov is in Data's guard. Grov postures up.
Data utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Grov pushes down on Data's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Grov is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Data is just riding it out for now. Grov eventually gives up the hold.

Data actively working from the bottom here. Grov is taking a breather. Data says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something. Data jabs Grov right on the nose. Grov blinks but takes it well. Data misses with a wild body shot. Grov lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Grov. Data jabbing away but nothing is landing. Grov shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Data sprawls well. Data wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Grov gets slowly back to his feet.

Data tries to sprawl but Grov drives through with a takedown into half guard. Grov looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding. Data tries to get to full guard but Grov has control of the leg. Grov content to sit in half guard and control for a moment. Grov is keen to just control but Data is a slippery customer. Data gets full guard. Grov stopping the sweep attempt from Data.

Data is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Grov pulls his head out easily. Grov performing his best blanket impression for a moment. Grov's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground. Grov frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.

Grov throws a hook but Data blocks it. Data is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot. Sloppy strikes from Grov. Those never looked like landing. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Grov throws an ugly left hook that misses
letting Data counter with a right hand. Grov fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Data looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath. This has been an exciting period of action!
Grov changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Data looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Grov wants to lay and pray for a moment but Data keeps working. Eliss Grov overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

 That's three minutes gone in the round. Data is pulling down on Grov's head to control his posture. Grov stopping the sweep attempt from Data. Data keeping moving, preventing Grov from controlling successfully.
 The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. Grov just misses with a punch to the body.
Grov stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Data. Good exchange - Grov coming out on top. Data stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Data wants it to stay on the feet. Data misses with a low kick.

 The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Caceres shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Mferi as he avoids it easily. Mferi cracks Caceres with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd. Caceres is looking to clinch. We've been told by Caceres's head coaches at Shinobi Martial Arts & Ninjutsu that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight. Rodrigo Caceres seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Mferi misses with an uppercut. Caceres feinted with a counter takedown. Mferi feints a jab promting Caceres to slip. Mferi then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Caceres slips again and ducks right into an uppercut. Mferi leaves Caceres with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Mferi lands a really nice looking cross but Caceres seems unphased.

Caceres darts in trying to clinch and Mferi cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.

Mferi gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.

That was a close round but I would say that Frank Brown will probably get the nod. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

 The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Brown misses with a hook. Brown throws a combination that misses and Popinski counters with a left to the body. Brown takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it. Popinski takes a jab right on the kisser.

Popinski keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Brown shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Popinski pinned against the cage. Popinski gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Popinski now looks to counter with a shot at the body. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Frank Brown. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Popinski unleashes a big counter combination but Brown bobs and weaves and avoids any damage. Popinski on the wrong end of a nice jab. Popinski slaps away a takedown attempt from Brown, before circling back to the center of the mat. Soda Popinski seems to be getting the better of the standup. Nice uppercut lands for Brown. That snapped Popinski's head back.

Soda Popinski showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare each other down, ready to get back to the action.
