With a record of 1 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Dustin Giles! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 3 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Zoltan Szobo! The judges for this bout are Trevor Gratis, Steve Smith and William Peck.
 The bell rings for round one and we are underway! The fight stays on the outside here - Szobo looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Giles looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this!
Szobo closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Giles to the mat! Giles manages to get full guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Szobo looking to pass the guard. Szobo missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Szobo advances to half guard. Szobo wants to take a breather but Giles is having none of it. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

 The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Batdorani shoots in and bounces Cross off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. Batdorani wants to control from the top but Cross keeps moving.
Batdorani got a little sloppy there for a moment and Cross has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Batdorani has managed to get both his arms back between Cross's legs - danger averted.
Cross working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Batdorani doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Batdorani manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Cross seems to have improved his submission grappling technique since last time we saw him. Let's see if he can pull off a submission. Batdorani trying to control but Cross is working from the bottom.
Cross has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Batdorani can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Cross is looking to cinch up a triangle. Batdorani throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Cross's body to avoid the submission. Cross has instead reached around Batdorani's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Cross arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Guillotine). Simon Cross! Simon Cross tried to hype himself up post fight but didn't word it too well and it ended up with him sounding like a bit of a tool.

Sparta Jr clinches. Sparta Jr has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Atunes avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch. Atunes landing knees to the body.

Sparta Jr blocks a body shot from Atunes. Atunes with the Thai clinch, lands a knee to the head. Good anti-grappling being displayed by Sparta Jr as Atunes tries to tie him up. With the fighters clinched against the cage, Atunes creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.
Sparta Jr gets control of Atunes's arms and successfully pulls guard. Sparta Jr will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.

Pizziconi wants the takedown. Rakotoarisoa is fighting it off but Pizziconi persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Rakotoarisoa's guard against the cage. Rakotoarisoa is wriggling around but Pizziconi manages to pass to half guard.

Pizziconi decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up. A looping hook to the body misses from Rakotoarisoa. Pizziconi does a little dance to reset his feet. Pizziconi shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Rakotoarisoa sprawls well. Rakotoarisoa wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Pizziconi gets slowly back to his feet.

Rakotoarisoa pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Rakotoarisoa connects with a body shot. Rakotoarisoa leaves Pizziconi with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Rakotoarisoa misses the shot to the body. Rakotoarisoa looks to land a left hand but Pizziconi moved out of range nicely. Rakotoarisoa throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Pizziconi clobbers Rakotoarisoa with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise. No luck for Pizziconi with that takedown attempt. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Osmany Pizziconi. That's going to take a lot out of him.

 That's three minutes gone in the round. Rakotoarisoa is not content to let Pizziconi control the position. Pizziconi lands strikes from half guard. Pizziconi thows a huge punch but Rakotoarisoa dodges it nicely.

Pizziconi will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Pizziconi is figuring out what he wants to do next.
 The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Pizziconi is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Rakotoarisoa doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Pizziconi. Rakotoarisoa is trying to maintain the position but Pizziconi is very close to passing his half guard.
 That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

It looks like Kiandy Rakotoarisoa has been cut. Pizziconi landing strikes, looking to finish!
Rakotoarisoa is rocked! Pizziconi is landing with some decent strikes but Rakotoarisoa is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue. Rakotoarisoa is still in real trouble! Can Pizziconi finish him? Pizziconi lands a big shot to the head and Rakotoarisoa winces in pain. He's tapped out due to strikes!

Justen bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Justen prevents Crocop from escaping the position.
Justen is in a dominant position here, looking for a kimura. Crocop looks calm but he's in trouble here. Justen gets his leg over his opponent's head and yanks on the arm. Crocop is tapping like a morse code operator on the titanic! SOS! SOS! Justen lets go of the hold and Crocop can pop his arm back in it's socket.
