 The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Rothschild misses with a telegraphed body shot
and Sakala counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Rothschild swings and misses with a hook to the body.
An attempted straight right counter from Sakala misses the target. Sakala is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Rothschild misses the shot to the body. Sakala's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Rothschild connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Sakala scrambles back to his feet.

Sakala was looking to counter that last move with a shot to the body but he didn't commit. Rothschild ducks down and throws a hook to the body. Rothschild cracks Sakala with an open hand slap. Rothschild throws a nice looking combination but Sakala bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Sakala checks the leg kick. Rothschild throws a predictable looking body shot

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Sakala steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Rothschild. Sakala looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight. Rothschild connects with a leg kick. A jab from Rothschild misses. Rothschild misses with a hook. Sakala ducked under it nicely. Rothschild with a jab. Rothschild throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Rothschild throws an overhand right that drops Sakala like a sack of potatoes! Rothschild dives in to finish the fight with more strikes and this one is all over!

Farmer takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.

Beardsley is looking for a counter combo. Beardsley bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. Beardsley tries to counter by moving into the clinch but Fedorov manages to circle out of the way. A slow jab from Beardsley misses its intended target. Fedorov replies with a solid counter kick to the body but Beardsley blocks it well. Fedorov throws an overhand right that lands on Beardsley's shoulder, as Beardsley tries to avoid the shot. Beardsley has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Fedorov. Beardsley fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Fedorov looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath. Fedorov throws a lazy right hand but Beardsley sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Fedorov misses with a body punch
and Beardsley holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch. Beardsley is trying to pull guard but Fedorov has him pressed against the cage. Fedorov has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
 That's two minutes gone in the round. Fedorov tries to throw a body punch but Beardsley avoids it by throwing Fedorov back against the cage. Fedorov wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Beardsley has him pressed against the cage. Beardsley can't find room to land a body shot as Fedorov controls the action.

A jab-cross combination lands for Beardsley and sends Fedorov crashing to the mat! Beardsley follows him down to the mat - Fedorov regains half guard but he's not out of trouble yet! We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Fedorov is holding on to half guard well. Beardsley is looking to take a break and control but Fedorov is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Beardsley prevents Fedorov from improving his position. Peter Beardsley overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Beardsley moves into full mount! Fedorov won't be happy about that!

 The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Miocic throws a poor cross that misses

Miocic sends Furioto crashing to the mat with a devastating uppercut! Miocic is motioning to the referee to let Furioto up. He wants to try and finish this one on the feet!
That has opened up Maximus Furioto's cut even more. Miocic is looking to slow Furioto down with leg kicks. Furioto shoots in for a takedown but Miocic shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Jon Miocic is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Miocic feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Furioto sprawling to the canvas! Furioto rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Miocic finish him?!
The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end. Furioto takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Miocic lands hard precision jab right on the jaw that stiffens Furioto up and sends him tumbling to the mat! The ref grabs Miocic from behind before he can pounce. Some folks in the crowd didn't like that stoppage, but I saw Furioto's eyes roll way back in his head, he was done.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Jon Miocic! A relieved looking Jon Miocic thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it. The defeated Maximus Furioto had this to say: 'oohhh!nooooo!'.
