Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Marvin Vettori (ranked 811 p4p, 114 weight class) and Renato Laranja (ranked 4912 p4p, 450 weight class). Vettori kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Police On My Back- The Rocketz. Laranja has chosen Sangue Do Laranja as his entrance music. The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Vettori connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
Donk. Vettori catches Laranja right on the button with a cross.

It looks like Renato Laranja has been cut.
Vettori takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.
Vettori throws a looping overhand right but Laranja ducks down to avoid it.
Laranja throws a shot to the body.
Vettori looks to throw the jab but Laranja is out of range.
Laranja looks like he wants to counter punch here.
A looping hook to the body misses from Laranja. Vettori does a little dance to reset his feet.
Laranja ducks under a wild hook from Vettori.
Vettori moves into range and connects with a jab.
Laranja takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.
Vettori scores with a jab. Laranja acknowledges it with a nod of the head.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Laranja swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

Vettori throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Laranja let fly with a counter punch to the body but it didn't land.
Vettori looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.
Laranja on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Vettori. Vettori obviously looking to wear him down.
Laranja tries to clinch but fails miserably
and Vettori counters with a straight right hand.
Laranja misses with a double jab
and Laranja takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Vettori looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Vettori misses with a hook. Laranja ducked under it nicely.
Laranja swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.
Vettori is looking to chop away at Laranja's legs.

Vettori drops Laranja with a beautiful combination! Laranja stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Vettori is looking for the KO!

Laranja is rocked!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Laranja shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Vettori but Vettori pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Vettori cracks Laranja with a big right hand that sends him crashing to the floor. Vettori has the opportunity to follow him to the ground but instead he's beckoning Laranja to stand back up!
Laranja is still on wobbly legs! Can Vettori finish him?

Vettori drops Laranja with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Laranja looks back up at him and smiles so Vettori waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.
Laranja throws the left hand but Vettori avoids the punch easily.
Laranja seems to have recovered his senses.
Laranja ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Laranja looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.
The crowd cheers as Vettori lands an impressive looking overhand right. Laranja doesn't seem phased though.

Vettori drops Laranja with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Laranja looks back up at him and smiles so Vettori waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.
Laranja throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Vettori is really peppering his opponent's head with punches.
Vettori defending well as Laranja loads up on a big left hand.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Vettori lands a big uppercut and Laranja crumbles to the floor! The ref thinks about stopping the fight but Laranja looks OK. Vettori waves Laranja back to his feet!
Vettori throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Laranja swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.
Laranja steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Vettori.
Vettori circles and sees the opportunity to plant his feet and throw a really nice straight left hand that drops Laranja to the canvas! Laranja doesn't know where he is but he's trying to survive - Vettori keeps piling on the pressure and forces the referee to step in! This one is aaaaaall over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:23 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Marvin Vettori!
