Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Derek Wylde (ranked 1483 p4p, 42 weight class) and Nick Johnson (ranked 25005 p4p, 242 weight class). Wylde's entrance music is Kanye West- Touch the Sky. A fine choice. Johnson comes into a darkened arena with his song building. On March The Saints kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
16 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Derek Wylde! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
15 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Nick Johnson! The judges for this bout are Mauricio Rocha, Paulo Santos and Daniel Cesar.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Excellent takedown into side control there by Johnson. Johnson wants to control but Wylde is keeping him busy. Wylde is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Johnson is controlling him well. Johnson wants to control but Wylde is keeping him busy. Wylde wants to get back to his feet but Johnson drags him back down. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Johnson taking a breather here. It looks like Johnson might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it. The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
That's one minute gone in the round. Wylde is trying to get back to his feet.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity. Johnson closes this distance looking for a takedown but Wylde circles away. Johnson looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Wylde! Wylde is trying to buck Johnson off.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Johnson content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though. Johnson wants to control for a moment but Wylde uses the opportunity to move back to half guard. Johnson prevents Wylde from standing back up.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Johnson trying to control the action but Wylde is working from the bottom.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity. Wylde goes for a spinning back kick but it misses. Johnson shoots in for a double leg but Wylde sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Wylde tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Wylde throws a lazy body kick and Johnson counters with a stiff right hand. Johnson dives in and grabs Wylde's left leg, looking for a takedown. Wylde pushes down on Johnson's head and hops out. Derek Wylde has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Nick Johnson. Wylde connects with a high kick. Johnson closes the distance and clinches up with Wylde, looking for a takedown. Johnson pushes Wylde against the cage but Wylde circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Wylde lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Wylde lands a big head kick that sends Johnson tumbling to the mat! Wylde takes a step backwards and waves Johnson back to his feet - he wants the finish!
Johnson is rocked! The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Wylde forces Johnson back against the cage and clinches. Johnson is still on wobbly legs! Can Wylde finish him? Johnson scores with a shot to the side of Wylde's head. Wylde escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Johnson fails with the takedown. Wylde pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Johnson seems to have recovered his senses. Wylde lands a big head kick that sends Johnson to the canvas! Wylde follows up with strikes from the mount that forces the ref to step in and stop the fight!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:24 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Derek Wylde! Derek Wylde opened up his post fight interview with a scream to camera that he wants a title shot! Whether he deserves the shot will be up to the management of the organization, so I guess he'll have to wait and see.
