Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between John Davis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dana Whyte (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Davis comes to the cage accompanied by Disturbed-Indestructible. Whyte has chosen Imagine - John Lennon as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the super heavyweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
9 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, John Davis! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
7 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Dana Whyte! The judges for this bout are Anthony Taglia, Dean Styles and Jonathan Paton.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Whyte gets the takedown into side control. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Whyte wants to control but Davis is keeping him busy. Davis is trying to get back to his feet. Whyte lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Davis down.
Davis regains half guard, as Whyte was trying to land strikes. Whyte thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Whyte working over Davis with some ground and pound. Davis looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable. Davis wants to get back to his feet.
That's one minute gone in the round. Whyte trying to control the action but Davis is working from the bottom. Davis might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Whyte not landing any meaningful shots this time. Whyte thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Davis's head. Whyte is trying to control. Davis wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. Whyte might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Davis kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Davis throws a series of punches but Whyte moves out of range. Davis drops Whyte with a right and a left! Davis comes rushing in but Whyte regains his composure and manages to keep Davis in guard.
It looks like Dana Whyte has been cut. Davis wants to get up but he can't break Whyte's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. Whyte striking off his back but it's not causing Davis any problems.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Davis trying to stand up but can't free himself from Whyte's guard. Davis knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Whyte on the ground. Whyte has his hands on Davis's head, controlling the position. Whyte is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Whyte looking to control.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Whyte changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Davis looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Whyte takes a little break here. Davis wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well. Whyte tries to move to mount but Davis blocks the move with his legs. Davis wants to get back to his feet. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Whyte tries to land with some ground and pound but misses. Davis is pushing Whyte's head away, looking to escape. Whyte manages to hold on to the position though. Whyte scoring with punches and elbows.
It looks like John Davis has been cut.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Whyte fails to land a wild elbow strike.
Sloppy strikes there by Whyte. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Davis prevents Whyte from improving position. Davis is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Whyte asserts his dominance and retains side control. Davis defending against the ground and pound. Whyte working the ground and pound. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Dana Whyte dominated that round. Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
Davis scores with a crisp jab that stopped Whyte in his tracks. No luck for Whyte with that takedown attempt. Davis throws a series of punches but Whyte avoids them all with ease. Whyte looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. Whyte has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Whyte misses with a head shot. Davis uses the momentum to regain guard. Davis wants to stand and escape but Whyte is having none of it. Davis wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Whyte manages to pass to side control. Whyte thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Davis's head.

Whyte throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. Whyte trying to pass the guard but Davis defending well. Davis avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Whyte.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Whyte shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Davis but Davis pushes him off and we're back to square one. Whyte bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Davis takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
Davis is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Whyte has just dragged him back down to the mat.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Whyte tries to move into full mount but can't pass Davis's legs. Davis is pushing Whyte's head away, looking to escape. Whyte manages to hold on to the position though. Whyte controls the position from side control. Whyte tries to land with some ground and pound but misses. Davis is working to avoid the ground and pound but Whyte connects with a decent elbow. Whyte throws a strike aimed at the side of Davis's head but Davis avoids it well. Whyte is staying tight to Davis's torso, preventing him from escaping.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Whyte working away. Whyte in side control, trying to ground and pound but not landing this time. The referee tells the fighters to keep busy. Whyte working the head and body with strikes. Whyte connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Davis some visible discomfort.
John Davis's cut is getting worse. Whyte working the ground and pound but he's contacting the mat, not the fighter. Whyte trying to control the action but Davis is working from the bottom. Whyte tries to score with some ground and pound. Davis controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage. Dana Whyte has got the better of the ground game so far.

Whyte tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it. Whyte throwing shots but missing, from side control. The strikes coming from Whyte are missing the target in this wave of attacks. Davis defending against the ground and pound.

John Davis has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Dana Whyte. Whyte shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Whyte showed some decent athleticism there. Whyte is just content to waste time from the top position. Davis takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Dana Whyte showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval. That's time! Davis's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Davis drops Whyte with a left right combo! Davis follows him down to the ground into side control.
Whyte is rocked! The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Davis wants to stand but Whyte has his arm trapped. Davis working away. Davis stands up and beckons Whyte to his feet. Whyte shoots in and drives through. Davis sprawls well. Whyte misses with a takedown attempt - Davis sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Davis is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Whyte. Whyte shoots for a takedown but Davis saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. John Davis has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Dana Whyte. Whyte takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Whyte fails with a takedown attempt.
That's one minute gone in the round. Davis bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut. Davis throws a right hand that Whyte ducks under and follows up with a left that Whyte also avoids with ease. Davis pushing out the jab but it's not landing. Whyte pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way. Whyte shoots in for a double leg but Davis sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Davis swinging wilding here.
John Davis is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Whyte looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Davis! Whyte won't let Davis get back to his feet... He wants to keep the fight where it is for now. Whyte controlling the pace for now. Davis taking shots to the head.
John Davis's cut is bleeding quite badly. He's got to try and protect it.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Davis really wants to buck Whyte off and get back to his feet. Davis avoids a series of strikes thrown by Whyte.
Davis tries to buck Whyte off but he can't manage it. Davis is in a horrible position here. Whyte smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.
Jeez, John Davis's cut is really nasty now. The referee must be thinking about getting that checked.
The referee calls the doctor in to look at John Davis's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
