Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between DAngelo Hawkins (ranked 657 p4p, 86 weight class) and Joe Tidd (ranked 1942 p4p, 215 weight class). Joe Tidd has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, DAngelo Hawkins!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
8 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Joe Tidd!
The judges for this bout are Dmitry Maklakov, Fedor Mirinova and Sergei Dronov.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tidd changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Hawkins tries to avoid it but Tidd manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Hawkins to the ground. Hawkins escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Hawkins half committed to a counter leg kick.
Tidd closes this distance looking for a takedown but Hawkins circles away.
Tidd decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Hawkins is looking to control Tidd's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Hawkins avoid being mounted?
Tidd scores with a couple of good hammerfists.
Hawkins is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Tidd pulls his head out easily.
Tidd working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
Hawkins actively working from the bottom here.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Tidd looks to score some points with some ground and pound.
Tidd wants to take a breather but Hawkins is having none of it.
Hawkins is trying to maintain the position but Tidd is very close to passing his half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Tidd winds up and cracks Hawkins with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Tidd lands with a punch from half guard.

Tidd perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
Tidd trying to control the action but Hawkins is working from the bottom.

Hawkins is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Tidd's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Tidd's back!
Tidd is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Hawkins gets his way!
Tidd rolls and manages to get back to half guard. Nicely done.
Hawkins is looking for a kimura. It's pretty deep but Tidd still has the half guard so he's probably OK. Oh, Tidd has exploded into a beautiful escape there and after a quick scramble, he's ended up in side control on top! Nice work!

Hawkins is rocked!
Tidd scores with a big shot from side control... and another... and another! Oh Hawkins is done here - save him referee! More strikes land and eventually the ref does step in and Tidd can finally stop beating on his defenseless opponent!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:27 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Joe Tidd!
