Yoshioka's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button! Chaize's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Yoshioka tries to score a power double leg takedown but Chaize sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Yoshioka somewhat. Yoshioka has taken the fight to the clinch.
Chaize's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not. Chaize lands a knee to the head there! That was nasty!
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Chaize misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Yoshioka.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Chaize is kicking away at Yoshioka from the bottom - trying to push off and stand up. Yoshioka grabs hold of a leg and drops back for a heel hook! The two fighters roll across the mat, with Chaize trying to push Yoshioka off... Chaize taps! He's tapped! This one is all over! A throwback to the old Pancrase there with an infrequently seen submission hold! Nice work.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:57 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Heel Hook). Satoru Yoshioka! Satoru Yoshioka retains his lightweight title! A less than humble Satoru Yoshioka misjudged his post fight interview somewhat and came across a little too arrogant whilst trying to hype up his own abilities.
