The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Marley tries to score with a leg kick but it misses it's target.
Ezekiel Marley seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Smithers fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Marley manages to avoid it.

Marley lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
Marley throws the left hand but Smithers avoids the punch easily.
Marley scores with a kick to the body.

Marley throws a quick inside leg kick.
Smithers lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
Marley has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
Smithers walks into a jab.
Smithers throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean.
Marley was about to counter that last move with a leg kick but changes his mind.
Smithers swings for the body but Marley moves out of range.
Marley lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

In his post fight interview, Ezekiel Marley started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
