Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
22 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Do Ho Joy! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
26 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Carl Kingston! The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Frank Antenori and Timothy Bukovac.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kingston throws a big shot that misses. It looked like Ho Joy wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit. Kingston thumps Ho Joy with a low kick. Ho Joy chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Kingston can pounce on him.
Ho Joy scores with a decent looking hook. Ho Joy ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. Ho Joy takes a body kick right on the floating rib. Ouchie.
Ho Joy tries to land a front kick but Kingston steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed. Ho Joy has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance. Kingston is looking to chop away at Ho Joy's legs. Kingston fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Ho Joy has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage. Kingston misses with a wild body shot. It looked like Ho Joy wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Kingston walks into a jab. Kingston throws a leg kick which misses Ho Joy's front leg but catches the back leg as Ho Joy tries to avoid it. Kingston moves out of range as Ho Joy strikes. Kingston fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Ho Joy checks it well. Nice body punch from Kingston.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kingston moves into range and connects with a jab. Kingston tries to work over Ho Joy's front leg with a kick but Ho Joy checks it. Kingston throws a leg kick which misses Ho Joy's front leg but catches the back leg as Ho Joy tries to avoid it. A slapping body kick lands there for Kingston. Kingston scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business. Ouch! a nice leg kick from Kingston, right into the meat.

Both fighters circling a little - Kingston finishes the exchange with a kick to the body. Kingston buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.

and Ho Joy connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Kingston throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Kingston thows a leg kick but Ho Joy checks it and Ho Joy counters with a solid body kick. Kingston throws a leg kick but Ho Joy sees it coming and moves out of range.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Kingston tests Ho Joy's chin there with a solid looking shot. Kingston throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Ho Joy counters with a stiff right hand. Kingston thuds his shin into the meat of Ho Joy's side. Ho Joy misses with an attempted mid kick.
Ho Joy takes one on the button. Crunch! Kingston slams his shin into Ho Joy's torso. Ho Joy missing with a left hand there. Kingston was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. Ho Joy throws a series of punches but Kingston avoids them all with ease. Ho Joy gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Nice body kick there by Kingston. Kingston throws a sloppy head kick and Ho Joy counters with a nice body shot. Ho Joy throws a head kick but Kingston moves out of range.
Ho Joy misses with a looping right. It seemed like Kingston was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Kingston is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Ho Joy. Kingston uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Ho Joy.
Ho Joy throws a lazy uppercut
and Kingston counters with a straight right hand. Ho Joy lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range. A low kick from Kingston misses and Ho Joy counters with a nice uppercut. Kingston with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Ho Joy is hobbling a little on that front leg after taking quite a few leg kicks so far in this fight. Nice body punch from Kingston. A nice combination there by Ho Joy.

Kingston misses with a two punch combination.
A head kick misses from Ho Joy. Kingston throws a body kick that misses. Ho Joy throwing a counter right hand but Kingston manages to avoid it. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Ho Joy finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.

Kingston lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt. Ho Joy avoids a lazy jab quite easily. Kingston connects with a body shot. Ooooh, nice body kick lands from Kingston. Ho Joy shrugs it off though. Ho Joy throws a hook but Kingston avoids it easily. Kingston looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.
Kingston swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Ho Joy. A chopping leg kick lands by Kingston. A big right from Ho Joy misses. The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end. That kick from Kingston tenderised Ho Joy's leg. Ho Joy is trying to keep his angry face on. Kingston's corner calls for a 1-2. Kingston obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range. Kingston has been working his punching technique in the buildup to the fight and it appears to be paying off. Ho Joy throws a big shot that misses. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Carl Kingston dominated that round. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Ho Joy takes the fight into the clinch. Ho Joy is looking to control Kingston's arms but Kingston gets an underhook and turns him. Now Ho Joy has his back to the cage. Kingston misses with a hook from the clinch. Ho Joy will be looking to protect his midsection after taking some solid kicks to the body. A head punch on the inside from Kingston fails to land. An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Ho Joy. Kingston lands a body shot. Kingston misses with a body punch.

Ho Joy swings wildly with an uppercut but Kingston uses good head movement to avoid it. Kingston misses with some punches.

Kingston throws a leg kick that is checked and Ho Joy counters with a nice uppercut. Kingston misses with an uppercut. Ho Joy saw that one coming. Ho Joy takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness. Kingston tries to score with a low kick but Ho Joy moves his leg out of the way. Kingston has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Kingston tried to score with a low kick but Ho Joy checks it. Carl Kingston seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Kingston scores with a decent looking hook. Kingston misses with an uppercut. Kingston throws a feint and then finishes with a kick to the body. Ho Joy connects with a leg kick. Kingston looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it. Ho Joy wants to slow Kingston down by chopping away at his legs. Ho Joy has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Kingston finds it's way round the side to connect with Ho Joy's head. Carl Kingston seems to be getting the better of the standup. Kingston throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Kingston steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Ho Joy. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Kingston lands a nice hook to Ho Joy's body. Ho Joy takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes. Ho Joy wants to clinch. Ho Joy lands with a nice body kick. Kingston moves out of range of the strikes. Ho Joy tries to clinch but Kingston is having none of it. Kingston throws a combination that misses enabling Ho Joy to counter with a crisp jab. A chopping leg kick lands by Kingston. Kingston dips to his left and cracks Ho Joy with an uppercut!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Kingston misses with the body kick and Ho Joy cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Kingston is rocked! Kingston scores with a jab. Kingston is still on wobbly legs! Can Ho Joy finish him? Kingston misses with a low kick. Ho Joy is stalking Kingston. Kingston circles to his left. Keeps circling left. Bam! Straight right from Ho Joy, and it's lights out! Kingston really payed the price for that rookie mistake.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:15 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Do Ho Joy! A relieved looking Do Ho Joy thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it. In defeat, Carl Kingston stepped up to the mic, saying 'You're so very special... I wish I was special. But I'm a creep, I'm a weirdo. What the hell am I doing here? I don't belong here'.
