Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Daniel Himes (ranked 1104 p4p, 157 weight class) and Saint Pete (ranked 2485 p4p, 322 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Himes might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Oasis - Supersonic. The crowd seem to be enjoying Pete's choice of entrance music: Midnight Rider. Both fighters look pumped up here. Let's hope this is a good fight!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
9 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Daniel Himes! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Saint Pete! The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Cecil Peabody and Gwen Towbar.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! We've got one fighter who appears to only be looking to counter and the other not looking particularly aggressive either, so we could be in for a dull fight. Himes scores with a punch to the head. Himes throws a poor cross that misses
and Pete counters with a shoot takedown. Himes fights it but they end up in guard. Pete forces his way into half guard. Pete is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Pete is looking for a kimura but Himes is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Pete to get the leverage. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Pete throwing shots but Himes is blocking nicely. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Himes tries to kick Pete off but Pete keeps his base steady and stays in half guard. Himes trying desperately to get back to his feet here but he's not having any joy at all. He's going to tire himself out if he's not careful. Pete missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Himes on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Himes tries to get out of the position. Pete trying to mount his opponent but Himes defends it.
That's one minute gone in the round. Pete throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Pete is looking for the mount but instead finds himself back in full guard. Pete trying to pass the guard. He's being very persistent here but Himes manages to land a sweep and now he's on top! Pete tries to land a sweep but no joy. Himes would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard. Pete is looking for a triangle here but Himes uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.
Pete tries to bench press Himes off him but Himes keeps the position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Himes tries to get to his feet but he's trapped momentarily. Pete wants to control but Himes postures up. Pete tries to get back to half guard but can't. You can see the frustration on Pete's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Pete looking for a sweep but Himes has passed into full mount! Oh no! Pete really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Pete regains half guard. Himes prevents Pete from improving his position. Pete moves into full guard.
Himes is fighting to break Pete's control of his arms but Pete is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.
That's four minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Himes preventing the sweep. Himes wants to get up but he can't break Pete's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. Pete manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Himes manages to get himself to full guard.
Pete looking to pass the guard. Pete is still trying to improve position. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Saint Pete will probably get the nod. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Good shot there by Himes. Himes connects with an inside leg kick. Himes punishes Pete's body with a nice straight punch. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Himes misses with a hook. A head kick misses from Himes. Despite the aggression on Pete's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter.
That's one minute gone in the round. Himes scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Pete doesn't seem bothered though. Daniel Himes seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Pete slips under a jab. Himes misses with an uppercut
enabling Pete to counter with a crisp jab. Himes throws a left that rocks Pete and follows with a right that sends him tumbling to the canvas! Himes dives into side control, looking to finish! Can Pete regain composure!
Pete is rocked!
It looks like Saint Pete has been cut. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Pete is looking to reverse the position. Pete is still in real trouble! Can Himes finish him? Pete seems to have recovered his senses. Pete can't do much from the bottom here. Pete is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Himes's leg. He's managed it. Nice work. Himes knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Pete on the ground.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Pete is looking to improve his position.
Pete is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Himes's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Himes's back! Pete is remaining active here, looking for the choke. The more discerning members of the crowd will appreciate his efforts.
Himes wants to get back to his feet. Pete looking to break Himes's wrist control so he can sink in the choke. Himes remaining controlled and patient though - he really has to keep calm otherwise Pete will wrap this one up with the rear naked choke! Himes is trying to get back to his feet but Pete has full control of the position and if anything, Himes has just worked his way into a worse spot. Saint Pete has got the better of the ground game so far.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Pete has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Himes has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!
Pete is staying calm and holding on to the back position, whilst working on a rear naked choke. Himes is defending well though. Pete let's go of the attempt for now. Pete has his opponent's back and is working for the choke. Himes is trying to get back to his feet but he's not managed it yet. Himes is trying to shake Pete off. He's managed it and has hopped back to his feet! Pete won't be happy about giving up the dominant position. Pete moves out of range of the leg kick from Himes. Pete with the counter takedown but Himes avoids it easily.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Himes lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range. Pete moves out of range as Himes throws a body kick.
Pete unleashes a big counter combination but Himes bobs and weaves and avoids any damage. Himes is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Pete can do to turn this around? Himes turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick. Daniel Himes is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Himes swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Pete counters with a nice double leg into side control. Himes won't be happy with that. Pete has been taking part in the yoga sessions down at fuck you. Presumably he's going to look for a slick submission... Or maybe he's looking to avoid one. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Himes is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Pete has just dragged him back down to the mat. Pete working the head with strikes. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Daniel Himes dominated that second round. The cut man is working on Saint Pete's cut. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!
Nice defenses there by Pete. Some wild striking there from Himes.
Pete drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Himes defends it well. Pete chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Himes can pounce on him.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Himes throws a shot from downtown. Pete moves away and avoids it.

Himes with a hook. Himes throws a body kick that misses. Himes tries to bum rush Pete with a series of wild strikes but Pete uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Himes lands with a kick to the ribs.
Pete slips a straight right by Himes. Pete feints the counter takedown.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Himes scoring well with a low kick there.
Pete checks the leg kick. Himes connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Pete momentarily.
Himes throws a lazy uppercut
and Pete counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Himes throws out a leg kick but Pete moves out of range and Himes only half commits.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Himes catches Pete napping and connects with a big right hand that sends Pete to the canvas!
Pete controls Himes momentarily but Himes frees himself. Pete tries to land a sweep but no joy. Himes wants to stand but Pete has a closed guard, so he can't escape. Pete looking to control.

Pete tries to buck Himes off but Himes is having none of it. Pete manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu! This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Himes wants to get back to his feet. Himes keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Pete is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Himes has managed to free his arm - good work. Himes is looking to escape. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Pete wants to free his trapped foot but Himes is holding on for dear life with his legs.
And that's the end of the fight! Daniel Himes showed his dominance in that final round. I think Himes has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
