Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Tank Ispa (ranked 26 p4p, 5 weight class) and Dave Semenko (ranked 51 p4p, 10 weight class). Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

21 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Dave Semenko!
The judges for this bout are Shigeki Sano, Yukihiro Yamamoto and Yasuomi Hirokawa.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Semenko throws a leg kick but Ispa checks it.
We've been hearing reports that Ispa has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.
Semenko throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Ispa sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Ispa is looking to counter the offense by Semenko and move into the clinch.

Semenko has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.

Semenko is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here.
Ispa tries for a kimura but Semenko is defending well.
Ispa thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Semenko is pushing Ispa's head away, looking to escape. Ispa manages to hold on to the position though.
Ispa is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Semenko knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Semenko tries to get back to his feet but has found himself mounted instead. Damn, that's gotta suck.

Ispa clobbers Semenko with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
Tank Ispa seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

and Semenko counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.

Semenko cracks Ispa with a nasty uppercut that draws ooohs from the crowd and sends Ispa tumbling backwards onto the mat. He tries to recover but Semenko pounces and lands a hail of unanswered strikes that forces the referee to step in to end the fight! Ispa is not happy but he gave the referee no choice!

During a confident post fight interview, Dave Semenko thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.
