Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jab Brown (ranked 2074 p4p, 275 weight class) and Richie Fortune (ranked 2694 p4p, 338 weight class). Brown comes to the cage accompanied by Lützenkirchen - German Kiss . Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 11 - 14 - 0, fighting out of London, Jab Brown!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 13 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Richie Fortune!
The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Chris Downing and George Francis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Brown ducks under a wild hook from Fortune.
Brown shoots for a takedown but Fortune saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Brown misses with a takedown
and Fortune counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Fortune throws a looping overhand right but Brown ducks down to avoid it.
Good exchange - Fortune coming out on top.
A jab from Fortune misses.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Fortune misses with a hook

and Brown counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Fortune avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.

Brown throws a big right hand that misses.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Brown tries to free his leg and advance position but Fortune is retaining full guard.
Fortune has control of Brown's left arm, preventing Brown from doing any damage.

Brown drops back, looking for a kneebar! Fortune looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Fortune looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Fortune!

Brown tries to bench press Fortune off him but Fortune keeps the position.
I've been told that Fortune has been drilling his wrestling of late, which has already helped him take this fight to the mat. Let's see how much of an impact it has on the outcome of the ground game.
Brown is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.
Brown wants to improve his position but Fortune is controlling well.
Brown is working hard here to advance position.

Fortune content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
Fortune really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Brown. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Fortune looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.

Brown is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Fortune pulls his head out easily.

Fortune is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Fortune trying to control the pace.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Brown wants to improve his position but Fortune is controlling well.
Brown moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.

Brown throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
Brown has a closed guard, preventing Fortune from standing up.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Brown has his foot on Fortune's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Fortune works his way back into a safe position though.
Fortune trying to control the position from guard on top but Brown is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Richie Fortune will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Brown takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.
Brown missing with a left hand there. Fortune was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Fortune swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.
Fortune lands a nice looking body shot.
Brown looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Fortune is fending him off so far but Brown persists. Nope, Fortune circles away and we're back to standing.
Fortune throws out a counter right but Brown avoids it with no problem.
Fortune leaves Brown with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Brown throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Fortune's waist but Fortune gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Brown off to one side.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jab Brown. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Fortune misses with a wild body shot.
Brown misses with a takedown attempt - Fortune sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Fortune fails to land with a series of punches.
Brown appears to be looking for a counter takedown.
Brown shoots in looking for a takedown but Fortune manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Brown's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Fortune throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Brown darts in looking for a takedown but Fortune gets double underhooks and turns Brown into the cage.
Fortune swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.
Fortune lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.


It looks like Jab Brown has been cut.
Brown shoots in but Fortune avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Brown moves out of range of the strikes.
Brown misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
A little jabbing left from Fortune on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.

Fortune cracks Brown with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.
Brown shoots in for a takedown but Fortune shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Fortune scores with a jab.
Fortune pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Brown drops down looking for a counter takedown but Fortune sprawls and moves away.
Fortune misses with an uppercut.
Brown tries to counter with a takedown but Fortune is quick to defend against it.
Brown steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Fortune.
Fortune throws out a loose jab but Brown uses good head movement to avoid it.
Brown attempts a counter takedown but Fortune avoids it well and moves away.

Fortune works Brown's body with a nice hook.
Fortune swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Brown shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Fortune pinned against the cage. Fortune gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Richie Fortune is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Brown fails with the takedown.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Fortune forces Brown back against the cage and clinches.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Richie Fortune showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

That's time! Back to the action! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.



Fortune drives through and clinches with Brown against the cage.
Fortune lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Brown backwards.
Fortune has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Fortune breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Fortune defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Brown.
Fortune lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.

Brown takes the fight into the clinch.
Fortune working some nice short punches in the clinch.

Fortune gets underhooks to prevent Brown's takedown attempt.
Fortune lands with a left to the head.
Fortune lands with a right to the head.
Brown is trying to pull guard but Fortune has him pressed against the cage.

Fortune lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards.

and Brown moves into the clinch.
Fortune gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Brown.
Fortune throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Browns head.
Brown tries for a takedown. No joy.
Brown goes for a takedown in the clinch but Fortune prevents it.

Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Fortune scores with a nice hook to the head.

Fortune escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Brown ducks under a wild hook from Fortune.
Brown tries to clinch but Fortune is having none of it.

Brown closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Fortune's guard.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Brown postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Fortune is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Brown, into his guard.

Brown seems to have improved his submission grappling technique since last time we saw him. Let's see if he can pull off a submission.

Brown throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Fortune escapes and throws Brown's legs to the side, diving into side control!

Brown is trying to get back to half guard.
Richie Fortune is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
Brown is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Fortune off and has taken his back!

Brown has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Fortune has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!

Brown is staying calm and holding on to the back position, whilst working on a rear naked choke. Fortune is defending well though. Brown let's go of the attempt for now.

Brown is working really hard to secure the rear naked choke. Fortune defends successfully for a significant amount of time. Both fighters are looking very determined.
Brown is not going to allow Fortune to sit and survive in this position.
Fortune is really stuck here.

And that's the end of the fight!
Richie Fortune comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Fortune winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
