Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mason Edwards (ranked 2778 p4p, 1690 weight class) and Choctaw Bloode (ranked 352 p4p, 226 weight class). Edwards kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is My Time. Buckle up people - heeeeeeeeeere we go!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Choctaw Bloode! The judges for this bout are Patrick Alders, Daniel Blasius and Saam Ante.

I was talking to Edwards's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight. Edwards avoids the elbow strike from Bloode, against the cage.

Bloode lands an elbow just above Edwards 's eye. Edwards is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Bloode to keep the fight standing. Edwards drops down looking for an ankle pick but Bloode pulls his leg out and moves away.
Bloode has closed the distance and engaged Edwards in a clinch.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Edwards tries for a takedown. No joy.
Bloode lands a nice elbow from the clinch. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Bloode lands an elbow that stopped Edwards in his tracks for a moment. Edwards takes an elbow to the temple. Bloode slowing the pace effectively. Bloode creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through Edwards's defenses. Edwards pulls guard effortlessly. Bloode tries to free his leg and advance position but Edwards is retaining full guard. Bloode controls the pace of the fight for a moment. Edwards looking for a guillotine here but Bloode defends easily.
Bloode must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Edwards is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Bloode defends well. Bloode really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Edwards. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Edwards can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Bloode controls the pace. Edwards looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Edwards escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Bloode gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Bloode looking to pass the guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Edwards is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Edwards escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Bloode gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Bloode showing good wrestling skills to control the position. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Choctaw Bloode dominated that round. The cut man is working on Mason Edwards's cut. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. A head kick by Bloode misses and Edwards counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. Edwards is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Bloode has managed to free his arm - good work. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Bloode can do anything to dispel that myth. Edwards maintaining the dominant position here and is working for a kimura. He's locked it up! Bloode could be in real trouble here! He's trying to wriggle out but Edwards has cracked it and Bloode is screaming in pain - he's tapped out! Great finish by Edwards!
