Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Alibek Mamedov (ranked 4177 p4p, 6265 weight class) and Temujin Khan (ranked 370 p4p, 481 weight class). Alibek Mamedov could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Temujin Khan's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 1 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Alibek Mamedov! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Temujin Khan! The judges for this bout are Alyssa Summers, Bruno Lombardi and Eddie Farnsworth.

and Mamedov counters with a lovely straight right hand! Khan staying out of range there. Khan tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away. Mamedov tries a head kick but it misses.
Khan defending well as Mamedov loads up on a big left hand. Mamedov throws a leg kick and Khan counters with a shoot takedown. Mamedov fights it but they end up in guard. Khan engaging in some classic timewasting tactics. Mamedov keeping full guard, as Khan tries to pass. Khan is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Khan in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Khan trying to control but Mamedov is working from the bottom. Khan might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Mamedov haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
That's one minute gone in the round. Khan stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Mamedov swivels though and keeps the full guard. Khan throwing strikes but missing. Khan trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Khan is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position. Mamedov keeping moving, preventing Khan from controlling successfully.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Khan throws a looping overhand right but Mamedov ducks down to avoid it. Alibek Mamedov seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Mamedov misses with an uppercut. Khan is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here. Mamedov throws a jab when Khan was well out of range. A big right from Khan misses.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Mamedov misses with a looping left. Mamedov misses with a hook. Khan ducked under it nicely. Mamedov swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Khan feints the counter takedown. Mamedov misses the body punch and Khan decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Mamedov's guard. Khan wants to pass the guard but Mamedov is keeping the position. Khan working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Mamedov's head. Mamedov controls Khan momentarily but Khan frees himself. Khan lands a couple of elbows. Khan wants to pass the guard but Mamedov is keeping the position. Khan throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Mamedov works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Khan throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Mamedov definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight. Khan trying to control but Mamedov is working from the bottom.
And that's the end of the fight! I would just about give that final round to Temujin Khan. I think Khan has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
