Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Jake Drake (ranked 2562 p4p, 6739 weight class) and Preston Patterson (ranked 248 p4p, 508 weight class). Drake comes to the cage accompanied by Snake Bit. I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jake Drake! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Preston Patterson! The judges for this bout are Luis Engracia, Daniel Cesar and Emerson Jorge.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! The bell rings for round one and we are underway! We've got one fighter who appears to only be looking to counter and the other not looking particularly aggressive either, so we could be in for a dull fight. Drake stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Drake wants it to stay on the feet. Patterson shoots in and drives through. Drake sprawls well. Drake keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Drake changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit. Jake Drake has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Preston Patterson. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Patterson looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Drake half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range.
That's one minute gone in the round. Patterson shoots in for a takedown but Drake shows good takedown defense. Patterson misses with a takedown and Drake counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Drake. Drake advances to half guard. Drake has improved his flexibility recently so we will have to see if he can use that to his advantage. Drake seems to be working for a kimura but Patterson defends the submission attempt. Patterson trying to control here.
Patterson is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Drake is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Patterson doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Drake. Patterson slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work. Drake drops back looking for a leg! Patterson is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Patterson manages to kick Drake off! Drake jumps back into Patterson's guard. Drake slips nicely into half guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Drake is working for a submission of some sort.
Drake wants to free his trapped foot but Patterson is holding on for dear life with his legs.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Drake is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Patterson! Patterson regains half guard. Drake has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Patterson defend it? Drake steps over the head and cranks it - Patterson is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Drake!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:26 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Jake Drake! Our winner, Jake Drake, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans.
